Gay ass short arm kits.

The only issue with the rough country kit is the shocks suck. ( run bilsteins) and some people say the coils are soft. Personally I like soft springs.
I love how guys say clayton is the shit, but I’ve seen two guys break it doing nothing and their shit is gay ass square tubing looks like some tweaker built it in their back yard.

Have you crawled under and had someone move the steering? Track bar bushings could have a little movement, were the holes tight to the bolts?

From what ive read the track bar causes a lot of grief with dw.

Ive got a rough county long arm kit nearly ready to go on our 99 Wj

FWIW I'm happy with the kit I got. This is it here:

https://www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/wj-3-lift-kit.html

Looks pretty similar to the kit you linked except it didnt come with LCAs.... But I'm not sure of your point. I did do research, and that's how I ended up with the kit I got. My next target is going to be to adjust caster, and see what's what.

I have crawled underneath and looked hard at everything that moves with someone cranking on the steering wheel. I've checked torque on everything underneath.

the lower arms are longer to help rotate and correct for the caster problem . so those would help a lot and keep you from doing all the ball joints .

I'm listening Sweetk30. If I adjust the caster with adjustable LCAs, am I going to run into trouble with the pinion/driveshaft angle? What I gather from the jeep forums is that the front driveshaft u joint doesnt like ANY misalignment. LCAs would certainly be easier than ball joints, which are literally only 2 weeks old.

I gotta say that everything I've done chasing this gremlin has tightened up the steering considerably. So, there's that.

yep lift or lower stuff sometimes = lots of rework / mods to make it all play nice .

i try and not even work on jeeps for lots of reasons and this being one of them . my friend across the street has a 06 rubicon with TONS of mods and he still wont swap them dana 44's out since he is now running 36-37" tires and has all these problems.

It is my understanding that using adjustable upper control arms is the best way to correct the caster. The factory lower arms will keep the tires centered in the wheel opening when stuffed

I'm now going in the direction of adjustable LCAs, but 71chevy4x4 brings up a point I hadn't considered. I'll have to check when I get back home, but I do have very slight contact with the back of the wheel well at full stuff. So, pushing the bottom forward with LCAs should work FOR me, I think....
WTF is it about jeeps? It seems like there are no definite answers to fixing issues. Its always "...could be this, or this, or a combo of this, this, and this......, oh, that didnt work? try this....."

I hate to categorize any people. But jeep people usually come in with a self diagnosed problem that they ask me to fix. They read it on jeepforum.
I explain the issue and factually back my claims. I still fix it their way and then I fix it my way after the first try didnt work.

Well, I appreciate the input from everyone. And I'm going to attack the caster issue one way or another. Now, if i go with adjustable LCAs, I'm reading on jeep forums that i want a Johnny joint at each end. What say you? An LCA for a WJ with JJ at each end? I can only find one manufacturer of that, and it comes as a full kit with uppers and lowers, and is upwards of 500 bucks. I pay more attention to the advice on this forum than any others.

Whatever is stock. 99 WJ. When I get home I'll look for sure. But there us a boot on it so I'm gonna say repezza for now.

Okay, they dont like angle at all, with a u joint i wouldnt think you should have an angle issue.

My 4.7 99 WJ had the u joint, so they used both styles.
