Can anyone tell me which line is the return line at the oil filter/block and at the oil cooler itselt. I may have mine mixed up.

I can't remeber which one is which, but on my '95 the 'top' goes to 'top' and 'bottom' goes to 'bottom'.

does it matter? On my style cooler, both inlet/outlet are on the bottom anyways.

Are you replacing lines? I need to get a new line, but the new parts on rock auto are described as upper and lower. Mine go into the filter sandwich plate next to each other, and both enter the bottom of the cooler. So who knows?

I replaced them both. See advanceautoparts for part # 625-131 and 625-132 @ 49.00 each. They are both the same except that one is slightly curved at the end. I simply straightened the curve out with my hands and they are now working good.

This is a pic I took of mine before took the hoses off to clean up, so I would put them back in the right place. Iwill have to look to see the fittings are different sizes. Just know one is braided and one is rubber. This is a factory GM oil cooler.

Hm, not the factory cooler i have. The factory cooler i have has 1/2" NPT fittings that go strait into the bottom, vertically.

1986 model, come as part of the trailer package.

There were two different styles of engine oil coolers. Darren, yours and mine are the same and different than the pic posted. The later 88-up trucks have an engine oil cooler in the radiator on the driver side tank.

On a side note, its snowing here in Snow Shoe, PA and I'm sure glad to have automatic locking hubs:D. Thanks a Million.

Glad they are working out for you! I was definitely having "exploding auto locking hub" nightmares, so my warn premiums have been getting the job done!
