Thats what most said I had, here on the forum. its aluminium also.
the truck is a stock 82 GMC pick up.
One shop told me that the trans bolts up directly to the T/C
Could that be true

According to the specs page on here the 1982 K5 had a NP-208 Transfer Case.big83chevy4x4 said:let me see if i got this right, someone replaced the original 700r4 with a th350 using a 1.75" spacer between the tranny and the adapter, the th350 bellhousing cracked and you are putting a 700r4 back in?
exactly, you hit it on the nail, thats what I am doing![]()
what you have pictured is the STOCK 700r4 4x4 output shaft, you need this in your 700r4, if yours is 2wd. when you take the th350 out, take the 1.75" spacer out and it will bolt right up with no problem at all.
OK, so the trans place was correct???, you can bolt a trans directly to the T/C??????

the 2wd th350 short tail (6" tail shaft housing) is the correct shaft, and you have to cut .75" or 1.75" (don't remember right off hand) off the end of the shaft and its the exact as the one you buy in the kit.and a 2wd 350 thats going in and I think that's what I need. (correct me if I'am wrong.)
