A1971Blazer
1/2 ton status
Greg,
Agreed 100%, when I built my Jeep it was strictly for off road. It can be driven on the road, (licenced and insured) but with full hydro steering, 5.13 gears, detroit lockers front and rear, and 42" IROKS .....it really ain't a mall crawler! downright scary
over 45MPH! It's always trailered to the trails.
My son, broke once and we had to trailer his DD Jeep, while I drove mine back, luckily we weren't too far away
Here, they have closed the Tellico OHV park and now the places to ride are limited, private, and far off to get to. Although I still maintain my Jeep and keep it going, I just don't go wheeling much anymore. I'm seriously considering pulling the TPI out and either stick a junk yard motor in it and sell it or part it out.
This Blazer will most likely be just restored to a classic driver. Something I can enjoy and some day pass along to my little grandson.
Around here any first gen K5/blazers are very rare, and that was why I chose to undertake this project.
