Yeah, idk. It ran so good until
It just wouldn’t start. At this point I’m just gonna pull that motor. I’m tired of messing with it. I found a hell of a deal on a 6.2 today out of a motor home with 38k miles, the guy sold it before I could get there. Haha. Damn the luck.

Sorry for the late reply! Those compression numbers you posted seem pretty low with heavy use. A new fresh motor is around 400+ on compression. Those low numbers of yours could indeed cause harder starting issues. I would say best to just rebuild it or find another motor. With all the extra parts you bought, I would recommend a naked long block and swap all the accessories over to save you the money. I think Boyce Equipment still has some 6.2 J code take outs for a cheap price. Might wanna give them a call. Just make sure they do a compression test on it before buying.

I have a couple of engines sitting here, shipping would be the most costly, I can give you a good price on the engine.
I will obviously do a compression check first.
In case you still want to put a 6.2
If not, I might buy some of the parts off of you, especially the IP
Another thing if you are in NM, there's a member here who has 6.2 trucks and parts in NM but he's in Alaska now, might have something for you.
I will try to remember his name

Ok, this weekend I found a 6.2 that popped up on marketplace. But in order to get the motor the guy said I had to take the carcass. According to him it’s a 38k mile 6.2 he drove to NM from Missouri couple years ago. Something inside caught fire and burned the interior. I didn’t wanna ask too many questions. Judging by the trailer park it came from….it definitely shoulda been in Breaking Bad. But gonna take a chance on it. Was the sketchiest drive home. The trailer wasn’t weighted right and it swayed pretty bad. Had to do 35 on the highway for the 50 mile ride home. Haha. But hopefully found a good motor. If anyone needs the tranny or rear axle, or any other parts lmk. Im gonna pull the motor and try to get rid of this as soon as i can. A friend of mine thinks it might be a 4.56 rear end. Also the wheels are 16.5 duallys. Not very common.

Those usually didn't rack up too many miles, you might be lucky.
What did you pay?

800. Taking a gamble. Also check out this score. I think it’s a TH400, but it has an overdrive unit on the back. Im thinking I could sell this setup and possibly the rear axle and get my money back. lol.

Another update. Ended up trading the overdrive unit and tranny along with my sons old burnt K30 that we were building before the fires and another parts truck I got for the D44 and 14b,….swapped the half tons off of his truck onto the parts truck and traded a buddy all that for a CUCV blazer he had with a 6.2, been sitting for years but a project for another day. Lol. Hauled the motorhome to a junk yard, but saved the 16.5 dually wheels… Thoughts are I could use the 4 wheels it had for rears on a future dually truck with some surplus tires and use H1 12/24 bolts up front….
Anyway, couple weeks later found a suburban a guy was selling the 6.2 out of and ended up buying the whole truck. I was thinking it couldn’t hurt to have another spare motor. But when I got the burb it’s too nice to part out. Runs great. Gonna put some money into it and find it a good home.
But that same guy called me a week later with a CUCV he acquired and was gonna part out. Drove two hours to hear the 6.2 fire up and ran great. On a cold start didn’t really put out very much smoke. Started up quick. So bought that motor and decided I’m gonna use this block in my son’s truck as I know this motor runs. Just save the RV motor as a spare or for the CUCV Blazer.
I finally had a couple days to work on my son’s truck again and get that suspension installed I bought from BTracy….. squeezing in few hours here and there. But so far got the rear axle cleaned up, shackle flip and springs installed in rear. Decided to put the front ORD springs on the blazer and give my son the TCs for his truck.
As of today we have the front axle under it, just need to finish bolting everything together and put in new tie rods and steering arms.
On another note, the steering arm on this axle was by far the easiest one I have ever removed in my life. I prepared my son and told him we may have to hammer this arm for couple hours to get it free……literally 5-6 whacks on the end of the arm and it popped off. Hahaha. It’s the simple things that make me happy.
Hard to make time on this truck between projects at work, new house to rebuild and bad weather. Hopefully get the suspension knocked out soon then on to dropping the tranny and pulling the motor.
Oh! I think I may have worked a deal on a banks turbo kit I found also!!! Will update if it works out. After driving the burb last few weeks, it runs great, but lacks power to get around our mountain highways and the grade that goes up to my house. Hoping this turbo will help my son’s truck get around and make it more enjoyable.

Yeah the turbo makes all the difference.
I am finally enjoying mine, turbo diesel suburban.
Got it out of storage and started getting the cobwebs off and giving it a workout.

Scored the banks turbo kit. The guy even threw in a set of banks turbo and egt gauges. Ordered a new water pump and gaskets just and some 60g GPs and buncha other new gaskets just to seal it up before I swap the motor. Also have a new harmonic balancer, flywheel and clutch to put on it too. I prob need to order a 12v starter for it too.
Also scored a set of H1 24 bolts with brand new BFGs on them. Now debating whether to paint the wheels white or black. Thought about running some 90s 8 lug caps too.

Did the kit come with the oil feed line, exhaust crossover pipe shield, intake manifold CDR side vent caps, down pipe, air filter, oil drain?

I don’t believe any of those. Just whatever was in that pic. Found some oil drain kits online that have a plate to drain where the mech LP goes. I’ll have to figure it out as I go. First time putting a turbo on a 6.2, we’ll see how this goes. Haha
