Old faithful

I would throw a post of your issue in the Pro Flo 4 thread. I'm currently installing my pro flo and not done yet. But there are several members here with good knowledge that will help you out. If it still stalls out with your Transmission unplugged I would say its not the TC locking. But, I could be wrong if the transmission has a hydraulic problem if they messed something up in the valve body that has to do with lock up. I worked as a transmission builder for 10 years about 10 years ago now. but I know the 700R4 well.

You may have RFI problems with The pro flo? Or a ground issue.

I like your truck also!

Hey thanks for the reply, your saying a transmission issue could be causing this? I dont think it's pro flo related but ill have to post there, I just feel like it must be an electrical issue inside the old wiring harness since its kinda just zip tied to the top of the transmission chillingly. And thanks you! I've had it around 10 years and still trying to dial everything in here

Was it stalling like this before with the old transmission?

No never had a single issue with that one besides shifting poorly, pooped in this one and now suddenly I have this problem. Gearstar sad make sure I didn't pinch any wires and my entire EFI is standalone with the PF4 nothing goes under the truck but the 02 sensor and thats fine. Butttt I have all the old harness just bundled up under there like it has been this whole time. Id like to just rule out the transmission before I go and rip Into the old tbi harness.

Is it really plausible that the transmission with the overdrive unplugged, can cause the engine to wanna die out like that simply from turning on an accessory? I dont see the connection between the two

With the transmission unplugged it is not likely that it's in there. It seems like it must be a wire that has moved? If it was stalling at every stop after engagement, yes it could be transmission but they would have had to mismatch the VB somehow depending on the year transmission they gave you. But stalling while driving and turning on electrical accessories points to a ground or power supply issue to something in the PF4?

Sweet cuz i aint trying to take that thing back out, Im going to go ahead and just take down that old TBI harness and look it over to see whats what, I never cut anything all I did was bundle it up and put it behind the distributor, after the trans swap it kinda hung down above the bell housing (there's not a wire pinched i made sure of that) and I kinda just zip tied it there so it won't touch the collectors or anything

When you say you do not think it has ever had a body ground? Do you see any ground between the body and the frame/engine? It is probably not your issue, but you can never have too much ground. I would run your own ground that goes from the cab to the engine to the frame and super clean at each point and use decent gauge wire. Or actual ground straps. Maybe even try that before digging in the harness.

I have personally been bit by the ground issue on an old K5 I used to to have. And after running my own ground that connects all 3 it really did make the whole electrical system work better

Okay cool, so basically using good guage wire ill bolt to to a clean surface on the body then a clean surface on the block and a clean surface in the frame? That's easy ill definitely do that first then

Correct, I would say it's not gonna solve anything. But seriously worth a try and needed anyway.

Idk if I posted this but I made this for my buddy when he left the unit, jeep engines do serve a purpose! See if you can count all the different engine components there's more than a few
