Also any suggestions on flipping the bottom leaf spring? I hear that adds a little flex
Are you referring to the overload spring? I have heard of guys flipping it which basically turns it into a long block. I would not care for the ends sticking down, especially if I was under the truck.
I would wonder if the rear springs would end up sagging after a while.

Yeah I guess I could have misunderstood what I read but that was what I interpreted it as, ill just stick with what I got going now as this thing is a daily not a beater

Got the blazer back after leaving it in the hands of East Coast Gear Supply for a couple days. Guys down there went ahead and swapped out my 3.73s for 4.56s. Drove the blazer a solid 3 hours there and back and she did well, better than I expected. So far I recommend these guys for anyone in Eastern NC they were professional and transparent about everything. After the break in ill report anything else.

Also my 700R4 Gearstar transmission is on the way so merry Christmas to me, if anyone's got any advice when it comes to swapping in a new transmission let me know, i hope it'll be easy but as we all know a minor repairs only one snapped bolt away from a major ordeal.

Happy holidays everyone

I like to use compressed air with the pressure knocked down some to blow the cooler and lines out. I start with just clearing the lines, then some brake clean. I have heard of some not getting a good flush with the cans of cooler cleaner only.

I am betting that you will be very happy with the gear change!

Thanks for the info, that's much appreciated. Would you recommend I just fully bypass my radiator and just run the cooler? I have a stand alone trans cooler now an Its got a built in fan and everything it's pretty stout

I like running dual coolers as you already have it. It's extra cooling. I believe that it can help warm the oil some when cold, but I have never checked out if this actually happens.

And if your current transmission is in decent shape and hasn't sent junk out into the coolers, it won't take much to clean them out. I always use a shop towel to gauge if the brake clean is still pulling junk out. I hold it over the end of one line while blowing some brake cleaner through the other side. I blow it through backwards once or twice too. Then give it a final blow out with more pressure after the liquid is out.

Yeah my current transmission is making some seriously weird claking noise now so I'm thinking there's probably some metal in there lol surprisingly it still has all the gears tho. Thanks for the advice, im probably going to take this old one out this weekend and start running the cooling lines.

Got the new transmission in and didn't even make it out of the driveway, the thing keeps stalling out now. I believe the torque converter is trying to lock up at the wrong time and causing this. Any ideas or insight would be helpful, been chasing this issue for 3 days now

Have you talked to Gearstar? The converter shouldn't be able to lock at all until 2nd gear.
Have you unplugged it to see what happens?

I'm going to call them again, they said the tc cable was not adjusted right, I'll in plug and try again today

Hey all who still follow this, having an issue I never had before with the blazer.

Whenever its running and this can be at idle or driving if I flip on the heater fan or if I turn on my lights the thing hesitates, if im at idle it nearly stalls and sometimes does.

It was completely turning off when the fans would kick in so now they are running off their own battery (cuz why not just throw a battery at the problem right? )

Anyways the battery is good and the alternator is too. Any ideas? It's always just been grounded to the block I dont think its ever had a body ground
