Old Iron 2.0

All that work, why didn't you just pull the motor?

I've asked myself that question more than a few times.

I didn't plan on doint this much work to that engine, was just gonna replace valve cover gaskets and the oil pan gasket then I started seeing other stuff that didn't sit right with me so I fixed those too.

knock sensor, its for tbi.. just leave it because some of them are into water jackets... or plug it.

I believe that's a temp sender. Run a clean tap and teflon tape the plug. If you ever want to drain the block oh go TBI, that's your knock sensor hole

Ok, I haven't seen one on any of my other engines so I was just curious what it was.

Gonna plug it here soon.

It's in the water jacket yes. If you leave it, probably won't cause any issues

Can coolant leak out of that little hole on the end?

Shouldn't the way the sensor is designed. coolant won't leak out the end just around the treads. If it's not leaking I wouldn't worry about it.

Pulled the sensor and plugged it, I didn't get a waterfall of coolant on my face so I'm happy about that.

Pulled the old plugs. Manifolds make pulling plugs soooo easy, I may just transfer them to the next engine instead of getting headers.

Have some AC Delco R45TS plugs that are gonna get gapped and put in. Hook the plug wires up and I'm all good to go except for the throttle linkage

Got everything wrapped up.

I know the plug wires look kind of messy but I can't cut them down so that's how it's gonna be.

I'm probably gonna cut the doors about 5" lower tomorrow too, I'm gonna cut the inner part and the sides and leave the outer part uncut so I can try and fold it over and close the opening that way.

If I get around to doing that I'll probably rig up my Ruffstuff mirrors tomorrow too.
