Old Iron 2.0

What's the sport in that?

Kinda needing this contraption to do this by myself. Think it'll work awesome

Eh... just gonna take the easy way out on this one. They cost $50ish last time I looked and I can use the for non NP205 specific stuff, I'm sure it would come in handy a few more time down the road.

P.S. - look through the early pages of my Blazer thread if you find yourself wanting pictures of how it all goes together.

I'll check it out if need be.

I'm gonna look at my mechanical pedals and see if I can just swap the clutch pedal out and install those rods vs. pulling and swapping the whole assembly in.

I'll go out on a limb and assume the bracketry is the same between the two to keep costs down amd that the pedals are just different... could be wrong though.

Mechanical clutch pedal set, right? The rods will be different as your truck wouldn't have had a M/C to support. And they didn't manufacture mechanical and hydraulic clutch systems concurrently, so it easily could have changed when they made the switch.

But these are all guesses.

True, I'll find out soon enough.

Not looking forward to getting up under that dash... probably one of my least favorite things to do.

I learned something pulling that pedal set (4th time). It's a whole bunch easier if you can pull it while the cab is sitting on its roof. Way easier to reach down to the pedal bracket rather than upward. Just don't drop a socket like I did, that part wasn't easier. But the rest of it was a little bit less nasty upside down.

I bet

I bet, sounds like it would be way easier that way.

Got my box from Novak today.

Kinda disappointed about a few things:

The slave bracket that mounts to the bellhousing is aluminum (thought it was steel) and the finish is pretty bad.

The Novak "in house made" slave cylinder seems kind of cheap, I was expecting something nicer for what I paid.

The bleeder on the slave seems really cheap, maybe that's how they all are...

Plenty of people have used this kit with success so I'm not worried about having issues but I was suprised (not in a good way) when I opened the box up.

Bummer, man. Is that a brass bleeder? That seems easier to strip out.

But I guess if it doesn't rust you won't be having that problem...

Brass bleeder, the part that's installed in the slave looks like a pipe fitting reducer and the bleeder portion just screws in and out of it.

How large of a head? My factory slave used a 12MM head on its bleeder. How do I remember that? I fiddled with it several times. I would not have wanted to fiddle a bunch with a tiny bleeder.

Got the Novak kit lightly installed, just mocking it up.

Threw the driver side exhaust manifold to check clearance between it and the slave cylinder. The closest area is between the exhaust flange and the slave bleeder, have a little over 1/4" of space between the two. Some kind of heat shield wrap may be needed?

Everything else checks out fine.

The clutch fork that came with the Novak kit is way different than a stock fork, it's much flatter and shorter than the stocker, not sure if it's a custom deal that they make or what.

Planning on bolting the transmission to the engine and getting them installed into the truck today (latest tomorrow).
