Old Iron 2.0

How much did you chop off of your frame?

What's you wheelbase?

Nice progress.

I couldn't tell you exactly how mucj was removed... I've got maybe an inch of frame behind the shackle flips.

I don't know what my current wheelbase is right now either. I can measure tomorrow. It's definitely shorter than a stock LWB truck. My driveshaft will habe to be shortened due to this.

And thank you! I lost interest in this thing for about 6 months and was on the verge of parting it out.

I know everyone hates carbs nowadays and love fuel injection but I've always been partial to carbs in an old non daily driven truck.

I don't have to worry about a computer going bad, high pressure fuel pumps, AN fittings and fancy fuel line, big ol wire harness (even if it is a 3 or 4 wire hookup), no individual coils to worry about, knock sensors, map sensor, maf sensor etc.

HEI dizzy straight to the plugs, carburetor, jets and a screw driver.

I'm trying to keep everything as mechanical as possible. I may do electric fans but that's about it.

I can live with pumping the gas pedal and shitty cold starts lol.
I like the way you think. I am woking on getting an Edelbrock carb acclimated to mile high from sea level and found myself seriously considering the TBI systems that are out there. They sure make them sound good. I will stick with the carb for now till I get it right, and practice heel-and-toe till it gets warmed up.
