Old Iron Build ('79 K5 Cheyenne)

I assume you're moving the FUSH back a couple inches in the frame for those 56" springs? Or is the front hanger moving forward?

and you can remove those steel sleeves by cutting them and punching them out. I used a saw zaw.

The B52 brackets are bolted in the forward most position, I've got the 7.25" shackles on the shackle hanger as of now. Springs should bolt up fine without having to make more holes.

Good to hear on the sleeves cause that's about all I have to work with.

Those 7.25" shackles must make up a lot? The B52 forward is only another 1" right?

I just know I had my B52's in the regular position on the frame with the leaf in the forward most hole in the B52 with 6" shackles. That was with 52" springs. Maybe I'm missing something as I haven't ran 56's in the front.

I don't for for sure but from what I've read is that you dont habe to relocat the shackle hanger hole when using 56" springs. I'e heard both about running 52" springs... you do and you don't.

I should have the 56's on tomorrow and I'll put some pics up. The only thing I'm concerned about is the pinion angle with this. Might need to do shims if it too bad.

I would bet you'll need shims to correct the castor. Remember to order 3 when you do.

I think in order to run the 56" springs with the B52 brackets you might have to switch the brackets from side to side and drill some new front holes. Check out Skull Crusher on youtube. I know he is running that setup.

For comparison I am using an A-bomb bumper with the integrated spring hangers with the spring bolt in the front-most hole and the FUSH in the stock location with 6" shackles and 52s.

Well hell... I'll try to get them on tomorrow and see what happens from there.

I did a little more digging into the 56" springs and B52 brackets. From the handful of threads showing people who actually did it they didn't relocate the shackle hanger. I couldn't find any info to see if they had to relocate the B52 brackets further up and drill new mounting holes. I'm hoping that I dont have to do that.

I am running 56s. I'm not using a b-52 kit but pretty sure my brackets are pretty close to where the front hole would be. I didn't relocate my upper hanger at all

I might be more forward here is a pic of my mount. The body mount we never took off

Your bracket looks to be a tad bit further forward where the spring eye bolts up compared to where the forward most hole sits on the B52's. Do you have any photos of you shakle angle?

I'm pretty sure they're just old stock ones. They don't have shock boots just a steel sleeve that slides over the shock body.
