[Old No.7]..... Interior work.

So, the master door switch is on it's way out.
I've been looking for a replacement switch, but can't find one.... Dammit.

I'm, now, looking into a new switch altogther.
Maybe a 2004 F-250 switch, to match my 2004 King Ranch seats I'm getting! :woot:

Just thought you should now.

Aww yeea.... :woot:

Nice. Can you get a close up of that? Still trying to decide what to do with mine.

Yea, but here's the thing...

I rolled on 3 coats, then wetsanded them smooth.

'Then, instead of buffing it, I sprayed on 2 moar coats, w/ a Harbor Freight HVLP gun.
(Kinda like a "clearcoat" layer, but color.)

If I could do it all over again,
I would have stripped the whole truck to bare metal,
Then, primed and painted w/ just the HVLP.

Honestly, the $25 HF HVLP Gun, is a great investment,
IF you're willing to accept that it's only good for 2-3 paint jobs.

*and, have a capable compressor....but, that should be a given. :thumb:

Edit:

Also, If you use the HF paint gun, be sure to run a third of a cup of Mineral Spirits through it first.

The oil they use on the guns is a really low quality "all purpose" oil.
It wreaks havoc on paint. ;)

Gotcha. I was looking mine over yesterday and kinda realizing just how much work this is going to be. Also found some crunchy rust underneath. That was disappointing. Thinking I might start talking to my super bodywork buddy back in Michigan and saving for one of his primo-paint jobs.

If my base paint/body was in better shape I'd consider it more but mine is a wreck. Late 80's peeling crap with a crappy repaint over it, everything needs to be resealed, doors need to be rehung, assorted other little crap, and now the crusty rust I found that crunches when you touch it...probably getting kicked up to someone who actually knows what they are doing.

I will NEVER paint something flat black again. I sprayed my nova with flat back tractor paint, same stuff as rustoleum. The car looked good for a few weeks but then started to fade and always just looked ****ty, seemed to hold dirt in it too as its fairly poreous.

Thats a really clean truck though, friend of mine had a 88 regular cab just like that, same wheels and everything. His got to the point where it would barely start on 55 degree days, so it went bye bye.

Damn, Rusty.... Full of f*ckin' sunshine today, eh? :haha:

Yea.... I could see this paint not lasting very long.
When, not if, it takes a sh*t, I'll be re-painting...

Not sure what color yet.
I want nice paint, but will go berzerk if another nice paintjob gets f*cked up.

Last time I had perfect paint, someone keyed the whole car.....
For NO f*cking reason.

Gotta love haters. :D

Where did you get the lights from?

The ones on my ford (1989, same bdystyle) are obviosly very faded after seeing how nice those are.
