[Old No.7]..... Interior work.

Nice, a freind had a N/A 7.3 with a 5 speed that thing was a turd. A turbo should do wonders to wake that thing up.

That's what everyone tells me....

I don't know, maybe I'm just getting older, but this thing seems to haul-balls to me... :dunno:

Maybe I'm just too used to a Blazer on big ole tires?
I dunno....

Either way,

With a turbo, a trans-command unit, and a few other goodies....
This truck will have plenty enough power for my needs.

Not to mention, all the new interior, seats, etc.
....

I was talkin' to a couple a Dodge diesel guys, at a wedding I just went to...
They were tellin' me that, when the IDI dies, I should swap in a BUILT Cummins.

I kinda like the idea.

Put a 60 up front, and toss a 500+HP Cummins in there.... :woot:

Good gawd farm trucks collect a LOT of dust!

Just replaced my window switches.
Found out, that while I still needed to swap new ones in, the switch was only part of the problem.

The window track is actually bent.

You can't see it when the window's up.
Once rolled down, though, the track relaxes and leans forward.
That puts pressure on the window regulator...
Too much pressure for the motor to compensate.

Silicone lube, and some delicate bending, are in my near future....

(That sounds dirty.) :haha:

Got some switches....

Still gotta wire 'em all up.
Wtf else should I install, while my interior is out?

I don't wanna put everything back in, and have a ":doah:" moment...

Wow didnt see this till now.i drove one of those trucks for a service company many years ago fully loaded with heavy equipment and supplies and it still had plenty of power. Couple questions..when u rolled? On your primer did you just wet sand by hand or with a DA,and what grit did u use if so? And did you buff? The primer?

I sprayed on the primer on w/ rattle cans.
I wet sanded all the primer w/ 320, then 400….

Then, I rolled two coats of Rusto flat black on.
Wet sanded that w/ 220…. All day.

Sprayed 2 coats of the Rusto on w/ an HVLP Gun, after that.

The roller left a lot of 'dimples' in the paint.
I didn't like it… Hence the sanding.

If I cared to do it all over again….

I would have sprayed the primer and the paint w/ the HVLP,
and saved the backache's from all the sanding.

I didn't buff it, at all.

I block sand, btw.
Old school style.

Nice. Need to get that done to The Blazer. Love it on my Tracker.

While ya got the interior out I'd sound deaden every thing and use the inulating kind. speacialy with that flat black. You may have already done that but I just found this thread:rolleyes: Nice looking ferd by the way. :waytogo:

One thing I noticed is there seems to be ALOT of ferds and dodges Towing chevys on this site:whistle: I'm sure all the diehard ford and dodge fans just love seeing them go by, tell their friends about 'em all day probably:doah:
