Ole' Red. Slow n steady

Can he get to the block drains just above the pan rails?
I did that when it was here.
Get some evaporust for radiator.
You put it in the cooling system and you drive it I think for a few days and it removes all the rust, then flush it and put coolant.
I used it once and it works
That is his next step after things warm up.

Almost forgot I started this thread.

We dug her out of the garage today, and took it back to the shop finally.
Poor thing is going to spend its first night outside since 1989.

I'm off for a while do to medical issues. But I figure as long as it's easy stuff and the wife helps I should be able to accomplish enough on it here that we can hopefully spend some time driving it this summer.

First off will be all fluids in the whole thing changed.
Re seal some things. Double check rubber brake lines and any steel ones that are crusty come out.

Fix the small hole in the floor so I can get the pan cleaned up and painted.

Wife's excited to work on it and we're hoping we can get Kaz into it to.

I told him we could sell this and buy 4 wheelers at sell the K30 and fix this up. He immediately piped up "Yeah, let's do that!"
Now if I could just sell the k30 :doah:

Most have seen the pic in the pad thread, but here it is again anyway since it's this thread.

Well I'm a dumb ass....
I changed all the fluids a year ago, including a bunch of brake lines. Lol

Guess I have more for later and I changed the oil again anyway.

One legger power brake assisted from yesterday.

It'll do decent ones without the brake, but I was trying for dark and distance... Forgot to put it in low and it shifted almost exactly as I left off the brake :doah:

Been driving it around here and there.
Still not sure what's going on, but it loses oil pressure now and then. To the point that I keep getting air in the mechanical gauge line.

Then today.... It just died on me.
Acted like it ran out of gas. Had to be towed home.
Not sure if it's vapor lock, or sucking air from a broken fuel line or what.
When I fill it gas seems to leak out around where the lines go from the tank to the frame.

Either way it left me stranded, and I don't have the strength or ability at the moment not get it in the shop and fix it. So it's unfortunately going to sit outside with a car cover for a while.

Well.

This might go away before I even get started..

Had a guy today make me an offer I don't know if I can pass up.
And my wife is on board since my medical issue this summer has drastically reduced our savings. To the point that we've gotten into accounts we shouldn't have touched. Plus she's realized that with her body size she'll never be able to drive it.

He's offering to buy both the car 'as is' and the LS I have for it. For a price where I wouldn't lose a dollar.
(Wouldn't really make one either)

He builds some amazing cars, and has more than enough shop for it. So it wouldn't be going to "sit" somewhere else.
I've had it 2 years and haven't touched it hardly.
And every time I did have time or money, it went to the burb.

All he's seen is pics. He's coming this weekend to look at it all.
If he wants it , we'll use the cash to square those accounts plus some as like an interest, and finish the burb.

Then we'll be on the hunt for something cool and smaller that maybe I can modify for her to drive.

Not a bad package for $9k.
Dude still hasn't gotten back to me.
He will. I'm taking it as a good sign. Assuming he's waiting to get the money out.
I've known him since I was a kid. His dad and my dad were best friends most of my life, and I was best friends with his brother for most of my younger years, and still friends with him all these years later.

I do hate to do it....
But tomorrow at 6pm she'll be sold.
Saddest part is for some reason, I'm more bothered by the engine leaving than the car.

Which I guess shows me that the car should go to someone else anyway. :dunno:
I'd like to keep the engine since it's the first performance based engine I've built all by my self.
And I'd like to have it for a future project.

Guess I build better from the ground up when that time comes.....
I have some ideas brewing from the last go round with the burb lol.

Sucks but sometimes it’s for the best. I hated selling my buddy’s 4runner but it was the right thing to do for it and for me.

That makes me sad.
I don't get sad when I sell a vehicle, I just don't like to sell them cheap, I would rather give them away and I have a few.
But when I sell at a good price, I got to enjoy it for a while, I get my money back and then some, and someone else can enjoy it.
Then I go buy 2 more

Nope, straddled right over top of it.
I personally didn't like the way any of it was strapped, but at that point it wasn't mine, and I've known him long enough to know he wasn't going to accept constructive criticism lol.

I just looked closer and saw the engine stand.
I guess I should have done that before I asked
