ONE BIG JIMMY "Everything In TX Is Bigger!"

I hope mine turns out just as clean, it will be nice but the first dirt road I'm going to cry. :haha:

I hear ya on that one!
My buddy said that she is going to be the biggest trailer queen he has ever seen lol!

Me either hell Im hoping that this thing with the running gear I'm installing will tow the little thing and maybe a small camper one of these days

Got the transfer case back together with the new seals and input shaft for the 4l80e
I wished the castings were a little smoother it would probably make the paint look a little better.
I decided to go the same semi gloss black on the t case just like the trans.
I like the aluminum look but it oxidizes real quick and I really did not want it to be a focal point hanging down. There is other cool things to look at than that tcase!

Got the tcase in!
Went right in no problems except the lower bolt
I will have to loosen the rubber mount raise up the whole assembly at the end of the trans.
then put in the lower bolt and set it back down
No big deal!
The new rubber mount did not have the notch to put the bolt thru like the old one did.

Calling all pics or tech info on the shift linkage for a 4L80E!!
I am in need of any pics or secrets on how to get it all hooked up and working correctly and look like it supposed to be there since that is the theme. :waytogo:
I am now taking suggestions

or hell anybody's build thread with detailed pics and info

Very nice work so far.
Are those set covers From Classic Ind.? They look like throne I ordered and sent back.
As for the transfer case cross member, rancho use to sell a kit that was 3 par side 1/4" steel spacers (looks like spring shackles) that lowered the rear output about and 1".

On my 4L65E it hooked up just like it had the 700R4 in it, did have to do some massaging on the linkage so the indicator lined up correctly in all gears.

You are more then welcome to come look at mine if it will help you figure anything out.

The seat Covers are from classic.
They are a little darker than what I was expecting but I will adapt with trim color on the inside
I test fit them on the seats about a month ago and they fit well

Why did you send yours back?

I remember that spacer and that was what I was thinking but am going to wait before I jump and have one machined.
I am looking at a hi angle cv drive shaft to help with the angle And to jump the u joints to 1350 to match the axle

That's what I was thinking but I might have to due something different due to the 4l80e having a little different hookup on it because it has the neutral safety switch on the trans at the sift rod
But I saw last night as I was looking around on the Internet that there is a company that makes a bracket the looks like the 700r4 bracket where the factory shift arm hooks up

I sent them back because I was wanting the exact factory fabric/look and i found a guy that could recover them and he told me where to buy the fabric.

Ok cool!
I thought that you may have had issues with fitment or something like that

Easiest/most factory way to get the 4l80e hooked up is to just use the column and linkage from a truck that came with a 4l80e(91 suburban/one ton pickups). But a 700r4 one should work pretty close.

The 91 suburban shift linkage hooks up just like a 700r4 but I have a push pull cable 4l80e with the neutral safety switch on the trans from a 2001 2500hd and that shift fork that the linkage hooks up to is not the same as a 91
I already have a 91 column from a gmc suburban
But I think I found what I need to make it work

Also Lokar has a cable shift kit for a 4l80e that might work
