That bring us to this year and how the blazer is currently...hit the King of the hammers this year, didnt bring my rig though, ran the dirtbike all week...
Hammertown sunset...
Con trip #1
Hollister hills...
Tried on some 40" LTBs to see if 40s are going to clear my fenders and such...
They rubbed pretty good, want to move my axle forward, do full hydro and then ill run 40s...Ended up getting new racelines 17 x 10 with 4" back spacing and new goodyear MTRs 37-12.50-17...
This widened my track width by 5 inches, im 87 inches wide in the front now, the old steelies are 17x9 with 6 inches bs.
The last trip hammered my Blazer pretty good. Zac broke steering parts and we got him back up and wheeling, but just wasn't safe for the street, I ended up putting Zacs rig on my trailer and Zac drove my Blazer on the street...
This was my rear yoke, glad it stayed together the 60 miles to ruffstuff...snapped off the nut.
Cracked the frame...ended up pulling the shock, drilled the ends of the cracks, melted them back together, then welded a diamond shaped 1/4 thick plate over the crack and painted it...reinstalled the shock. Hit the pinion support housing pretty good...
Pulled the pinion support housing, bought a 14 bolt guardsman from ruffstuff, new pinion seal, pinion nut, and crush sleeve eliminator kit...took it all apart and installed all the new parts and reinstalled it.
Also set up the rig for the winter...Put the 12" subs back in, installed the front spare neckdown d60 front shafts and 30 spline outers, stock 30 spline warn hubs, doors, and old rims and tires. Aired them up to 35 psi and slapped on the license plates...ready till spring.
Next upgrades are to add a power steering cooler, I'm still running crossover steering with factory power steering. Then hydro boost is on the list as I have a majority of the parts and my box is already tapped (thanks 4x4high from almost 10 years ago). I do want to keep the high steer so im looking for a 6 inch ram...
My rear shackles were bent, took them apart last night and straightened them out in the press...Looks like my rear 52s need bushings, time to order some bushings and im on the lookout for 52 springs as these springs are pretty beat up.
