Opinions on date change for BB13

I think this year was the first in the past several I can remember not getting at least one evening rain storm. I remember guys having to tarp up last year on Steel Bender I think it was.

EJS '05. It rained, snowed blew, was cold. Had fun but did leave a day early but with some broken junk we weren't doing much anyway.

I think I put the tarp on 2 or 3 times that day, hot then rain, hot then rain. We got pounded on the way back from BFE the first day, wipers on full blast but the rain was on the inside of the windshield. We froze our a$$ off. Got back to the condo and it was hot again.

I am changing my vote.

It snowed in CO, alot, was in the low 50's here last night.

Leave it the same or even move it earlier, yeah it would be hot but what the hey no snow.

Are you having Mangina issues? You must have serious repressed childhood snow issues.:haha:

I live at 7,000 ft. in CO and haven't seen snow. Even at 10,000 ft there were only traces if that.

I am looking out for you guys having to drive in it.

Lets not bring up the mangina issues, I was at Blazer Bash

Snow don't scare me:thumb:

Hey now my wife has my balls securely locked away in safe keeping, at some point in time she even claims that if I'm good she'll give them back to me to use for a weekend or two here and there.

FYI should have pissed her off and come down, no kid has popped out yet and the house projects are proceeding better than planned.

My vote is to keep the date the same. I take the whole week off. It is nice to have the holiday and not have to use another day of vacation. Being from New Mexico, hot and dry are ok by me.

Another thought on the date change...September 21st is the fall equinox.
Later in the month, the amount of daylight will be that much less. I like to get off the trail before dark.

Moved the Trifecta discussion to its own thread. :D

But I had a plan and was getting things back on track:haha:

See my last sentence in my last post was on target with the thread title.

Move it!

I know what I would do if I was Scott and the organizer of this event and the trifecta in the beginning of September wouldn't be it!
Depends on which part of the sentence goes with the negative "wouldn't"....

....trifecta ... wouldn't be it!

or

....beginning of September wouldn't be it!

Both parts go with the negative

Hoping to make BB 13...one of the biggest reasons it's been hard for me to plan is due to the kids being in school by that time. They'd have to be out over a week because of the driving to and from. I'm seriously shooting for BB 13 so maybe it can be taken into consideration, but either way I'd make my best effort to make it. If not, then maybe I'll shoot for the summer when the kids can be off with no worries.

I have the same situation, well not the week worth of time because of driving but the kid in school deal.

I will say 100% that you don't want to be in Moab in the summer, especially with kids. We did one BB in August one year and it flat out sucked.

IMO the once in a while pull the kids from school for a trip like this is ok. My wife feels differently but really 4 wheeling is my guys time away so it isn't as big a deal.

I never had a problem pulley my kids out of school for a trip. They usually learned more on the trip than they would have those few days in school. I always asked my wife if missing 3 days of school will be the difference between them being president or not someday. At the beginning of the school year it is harder to do though.

I brought my son to one, but now that he's in college he doesn't want anything to do with wheeling
