ORD Crossover Swaybar

and the 2 round clamps on the inside of ORD bar just hold it from shifting possible from side to side .

This is a sweet feature, the sway bar on my wife’s Jeep walks side to side when disconnected. I guess the tires touch it when turning, don’t disconnect it enough to be an issue.

What I’m asking is the rubber bushing and silver clamp that holds the sway bar to the stock mounts, like my picture, the circled yellow portion.
Those parts are not in the picture on ORD’s website.
The little circle metal thing is, but not the clamp and bushing. Are those pieces in the kit or do you have to buy them?

No, the frame mounted bracket and bushing are not included in the kit.

Yellow: rubber bushing
Blue:, clamp to secure it to stock mounts.
I don’t see them in the kit, which is odd

This sway bar uses the factory sway bar mounting bracket and sway bar bushings. If you don't have them anymore, we have them here.

The '73-80 bracket is super easy to adapt to the '81-91's, the only real difference is that the 80's trucks use a 7/16" bolt instead of 3/8".

Thank you. Thats what I’m asking about.

Do you need to have crossover steering for this item
to be on any use? I know it says “crossover steering swaybar”..... but can it have a benefit to a truck with standard steering?

If anybody's spring plates are too far gone or you're running aftermarket plates, I asked them about that on Facebook and within a day they had replied and added these threaded DOM pieces to their website that can be welded to the plates:

So awesome to have places like ORD out there that are still coming up with new products for these trucks. @1977k5 and the guys rock :saweet:

it’s a great idea, and simple, just a split shaft collar. McMaster Carr type item, few dollars.

Why won’t this work for stock steering? The truck in the pictures looks stock to me. At least it appears like my truck unless I’m missing something either in the pictures or on my truck.

Sorry for all the questions, I’m just trying to understand.

cause it flares out past the steering box . the STOCK push/pull arm sticks out in the area THIS new sway bar will be in and not work .

if you need a stock sway bar there all the same from 1/2 - 1ton and lots of them out there .

or if you want one now and plan to upgrade later for crossover then its not going to work until crossover installed .

Seems like a lot of greenbacks but wonder if it would be a good idea for my 69 with 52” springs up front with high steer & hydraulic assist

Bumping this thread!!

Who is running one of these and what's your thoughts??

I have ORD custom leaves front and rear and my truck rides awesome. I do have a fun pre-runner style lean while going around corners, but my concern is the front driver's side sits about 3/4" low (measured from the axle tube to the bump stop bracket). The rear end sits level.
I was thinking the sway bar might help with the sag to the driver's side.
Right now I have a WFO concepts 1/2" spacer (just like a zero-rate) bolted under the spring pack to help, but I would like it to go away.

Was it like that when the springs were installed? Any chance you have a broken leaf?

I haven't measured in a while, but my ORD spring K5 doesn't sit totally level either. Might just be par for the course with soft springs. The driver's side may have more weight naturally for various reasons.

I also tossed the sway bar with crossover and am curious about the ORD sway bar option. The lean is not terrible, but it would be nice to get some handling back.

Once the springs settled out I had the lean going on. These are brand new made for me ORD springs, I installed them last summer and maybe have a couple hundred miles on them, so no broken leaves. I haven't even wheeled it yet until I get a few other things sorted out.

i never had a sway bar on either of my big trucks! my 78, on 40's and 6" lift driven daily, no sway bar. the 2nd version, D60 with crossover, no sway bar, but hardly driven on the road. Are you guys noticing a real difference with a sway bar vs without?
