ORD High Steer Issue

That can cause a stress riser and the tie rod could fail alot easier. I'm not saying it can't be done without failure but i do not play around when it comes to brakes or steering components.

he needs to see how much will need to be removed. being that it is a thick rod, it would really not hurt it cause it'll still be way thicker then the stock one.

Thickness has nothing to do with creating a stress riser.

what about tie rods that have a 2 flat spots for a wrench ground into them? you guys are thinking way too much into this. if too much would have to be ground away, then spacer blocks are needed, and that seems the cheapest way, but he doesn't want to spend anymore on this.

Tie rods with flats cut into/onto them are also cut on the ends and the tie rod end is threaded into the tie rod much farther so that isn't an issue whereas further back where there is no support internally.
