ORD racing preps the 4488 for Cinco De baja

So following your guys advice i just welded up my R&P and got it all back together. I had the spiders welded but i reallly wanted to make sure it held together. So now its making all kinds of clunks and noises. I'm thinking maybe its the backlash?

Or the flux capacitor :dunno: :haha:

If you have any back lash with this type of weld job you did something wrong:waytogo: Go back a check your welds:thumb:

Got it on it's own 4 wheels last night and went for a little gear break in drive. Kind of nice to just cruise the back roads out of the shop. We can actually access Wilderness area, after 20ish miles of driving, with out getting on a highway from the ORD shop so we take advantage of the lesser traveled roads for this type of thing. I think Stephen was going out for a drive this morning and then someone will be taking it out again this afternoon.

Gear break in is about heating a cooling cycles for a while then it just becomes about the miles. I drove it 16 miles last night never going faster that 40 and it created a lot of heat. It's normal for a new gear and bearing set but it just always surprises you how hot they get the first fifty or so miles.

No real pictures since last night was really about putting on tires, checking fluids after we got it started, and a bit of driving.

Not the best but I only own a smart phone camera so this is a good as you get.

FYI it's really nice to be able to have the shop doors open finally. I only had to wear a long sleeve shirt and heavy winter jacket last night to drive. It's warming up:haha:

We're back,

Started 11th and finished 6th physically and looks like 6th after corrected time. For those not familiar with the starting system there is a time gap between each vehicle. So us starting 11th we started 5 minutes behind the first starter.

So after the race finishes there is some computer work that has to be done to figure out final times.

Normally we split driving duties pretty evenly but for this race Stephen drove the entire thing. We are moving all of the official driver of record stuff to his name since my schedule is sometimes tough to know if I will be free or not. Also with Construction being slow my disposable income has gone from comfortable to non existent. It was a bit different for me to co drive an entire race but being a lap race it was nice to get into a groove and make things happen. Kind of weird sitting completely sideways at 50+ MPH looking at the ground out your window and saying drive faster:woot:

Didn't get a lot of pictures but there is one small leak in a brake line fitting for the left rear brake. Otherwise we could put gas in and go for another race at this point.

Got run but that's the highlights.

I think they are already available according to the website...:dunno:

So did that qualify you for KOH?

I qualified this year through KOH. This race qualifies Stephen.

We won't run two cars again so really this is just a switch from racing under my name as the DOR to Stephens.
