ORD Ultimate Adventure truck prep

Your Friend must be Paden and Kelly. They had a bit of a rough time but with hard work made it through.

The jeep in Fayetteville was Mel Wade and Tim from Nitto tires. Mel had an event he had to leave in the middle of the UA for so Tim dropped him off at the airport and then rejoined the group.

It was a good UA and the ORD truck came out looking good.

Yup thats them! I'm really looking forward to seeing and hearing about it when they get back.

Any "after" pictures?

No real "after" pictures right now. But the picture from above with it flexed out in the grass drainage is close enough to an after picture to call it one.

Never touched the body on anything but a few tree branches that were small enough that they moved out of the way.

There is a bit of rock rash on the body protection stuff like front bumper, boat sides etc.

Truck has already been unloaded, and is most likely getting a good look at right now then getting washed later today. It has to get turned around and ready to go out again fairly fast as we have several vehicles to get ready for BB and a few other personal trips between now and then.

Wow! I need to come around here more often! That truck is sick! It's my new desktop wallpaper at the moment:waytogo:

Yeah, it's a real killer :waytogo:
I really like the idea to to a sas on a newer ifs truck.
They're so much nicer to drive, and the visibility is much better than with the old body style.
To do a sas on one really brings out the best from two worlds
And to put it together in less than two weeks is pretty impressive

I haven't driven one, but going from IFS to SFA doesn't really improve drivability.

I think he was probably talking about the cab, not the axle.

Just needs the exhaust finished, fenders trimmed for the tires and it will be on it's way!

Looks good!

The parking brake is now gone since the discs are on so we put this line lock valve on the A-pillar for the rear circuit. Bleeding will likely be a pain.

do yall have any additional info on this manual"line lock"and associated fittings?... Part numbers? suppliers?

The "supplier" will be us shortly

Chris, since this was brought up, what kind of time frame are we talking about and any pricing ideas ?

Also, have you ever had any experience with the manual line locks from AFFCO ?

The magazine has covered the trip. Do you have and are you allowed to post any of your pics from it?

We could post pictures, if we had pictures of the trip:doah:. Stephen took some, I was too busy sweating and watching out for poisonous, or venomous things.:haha:

One thing that I am really bad about is taking pictures, it's just not on the top of my priority list. I bet we have trips that there isn't one picture of.

Not the best for business purposes but that's the reality of things. Stephen does better than I do but we aren't big picture takers.

Edit:
MTR tires work very well, I have experience now with the 40" DOT tires, 40" non DOT, 42" DOT and the 42" non DOT. I obviously prefer the non DOT sticky version but honestly the DOT versions are a very impressive tire. My first day on the trail was in 2009 after Stephen got his 42" DOT tires for UA. I was seriously envious and would have burned the tires I had for a set of the Goodyears. Then they made the non DOT sticky and things have only gotten better.

I normally dont get any pictures on my wheeling trips either. I get too dang excited about whats going on and forget to take pictures of it.:dunno:

While this topic is back up though, what thickness sheet metal did you guys use on the cage gussets? Im planning on doing the same as I like the cleanliness of it.
