Hey guys, I have a '99 Silverado 1500 Z71, new body style...that I would like to do a SAS on. I have looked at ORU's site, and they don't show to have anything for my truck. The only kits they have for new body style trucks, is for '01 and up HD? Anyone know why this is? I remember seeing, at some point, another site or two that had SAS kits, but I don't know if they had any for these trucks either...and I don't remember what they were? Anyone know any other sites I could check out? I know that it's a lot cheaper to just build your own brackets and such, rather than going with a kit, and this is what a lot of you do...but I really don't have any fab skills to do it myself. I don't know how to weld or anything. plus this is my DD, so I would need it to be down as little as possible. Any help or advice you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

ya thay are kind of slow when it comes to new stuff. i asked them over 2.5 years ago about the 2x4 conversion kit. thay said 2-3 months. and it was the same story every 2-3 months till i quit calling them. and finaly thay did it. and i swa the price was more than thay quoted before it was done by almost 200 bucks. no thanks.

what I don't understand...is they've had kits for the HD's for a long time now, but it seems like they must not even be working on anything for the 1/2 tons. what's up with that? it can't be that much harder to develop a kit for them. and I know there's a demand for them.

thanks for the link. I've actually seen them before. however...they don't have anything for a 99 and up either. although they do have a pitman arm listed for an 88-05 SAS. hmm, that's interesting.

talked to the guy, guess I'm going to order their brackets soon. I know I am fully capable of making them but I don't have the tools on hand to do a quality job at the moment and I want to have the truck straight axled by august so think I will be giving his parts a try.

i'm probably going to use them as well. now i just have to fight off the urge to buy a HP 60 from a guy at work. only problem is, he knows what they're worth. :(

i think im gonna save the $150 on the shock kit though. i just noticed a little bit ago i still have a set of Ford towers in the garage.

initially liked it, it looks pretty decent. but, why mess with trying to find something that *might* work, or might not. with the Ford towers, i've already got them, and i can run a tried and true setup.

I doubght ford shock towers are gonna work... The old ones might but i know stupid duty ones wont. also casue the frame is boxed they either have to be welded or the frame has to be drilled/ tapped

its not hard to drill through both sides of the box. piece of plate steel on the back with matching holes (a large "washer" if you will) and they should work just fine. if not, they can be welded on.
