Other SAS options, besides ORU?

really not a good way to mount through a boxed too. Puts two shear points on the bolt. Sleeving the frame is THE way to bolt all the way through boxed tube(or a boxed frame). Personally whenever I get around to it I'll just weld my F250 towers on. See no reason why not to. The rolled edges lend themselves to good penetration and plug welding the holes will only help.

Now that I actually have a little cash its all getting spent on the S10 though... I ordered all 4 calipers and the rortors for the rear of it. Have to get steering and brakes done, hopefully in the next month or so.

I found another SaS kit ,It might have been posted before?
No prices are listed ,I just E mailed them to find out more!

**As a side note I have nothing to due with them** Just passing on info along.

cool, I like the crossmember/front mount. Bet I could bend those shackle mounts in a week though...

It looks good but your right about the shackles .
not so much the shackles but the mount they are on. all I really see is a piece bent at a 90 supporting them. Not nearly good enough IMO. even if I get the OffRoadDirect kit I would strengthen up their shackle mounts myself. I'm too hard on things(especially my daily drivers) to not.

just got an email from Sky Manufacturing, and apparently they make a kit too. and it costs $300. :doah: just ordered the OffRoad Direct kit the other day.

Can you post some pics before you install it?
It looks to be a good kit from what you can see on there site.

Thanks

having a little trouble with shipping, if i dont have a valid tracking number by Friday, i'm cancelling the order. if that's the case, Sky is probably going to get the nod. i just sent an email to them requesting more info, and possibly pics of their setup. if i like it better, and the Off Road Direct thing actually comes through, i may sell my ORD kit to my buddy for his truck and buy a Sky for myself.

12:55 AM Friday, i FINALLY got my tracking number. i was told the product would ship out on Monday, with the promise of a tracking number as soon as it did. emailed on Wednesday, got a response back on Thursday that said "product was picked up last night (Wednesday), i'll get you a tracking number later today" well, when i get my tracking number i check it out to see where it is... it was picked up Thursday at 7:10 PM, so i was flat out lied to about when it shipped. kinda miffed about that, but we'll see what the kit is like before i make any real decisions about the product. maybe it'll be worth the wait. :dunno:

still waiting on details on the Sky kit. as soon as i get a response out of them, i'll post up and let you guys know.

your not talking about the ford Shackle reversal are you??? I don't see any listing fro the chevy SAS brakets .I did however, order there 5'' reversal for my Buddies F-350 VERY NICE KIT

I don't yet have any pics, the front hanger is a complete crossmember, the rear shackles are currently strait shackles that hang from a shackle hanger in side the frame. Its all 3/16ths up to 3?8ths steel. laser cut, cnc formed, etc.

its not listed on their site, and with the unavailability of pics , i'd be more than willing to bet its a new proudct. i have yet to hear of anyone dissatisfied with ANY Sky Manufacturing product.

as said above there Shackle reversal kit for the F-350's is very nice these weld s look perfect and all the holes lined up like they should i'd definetly recomend there products

I too have a 99 z71 new body stly and am looking at doing the conversion, but am running into the same problem of finding a kit

Hey beater, you heard back from Sky? I sent them an email the other night and have yet to hear back. I'm real interested in this.

talked a little with Sky himself the other day.

supposedly they've done several trucks locally without much issue. their setup provides a little more lift, and does in fact use a 2 plate style shackle like the 73-91 trucks do. Sky says he's got somewhere in the neighborhood of 4" of lift out of the brackets alone. i've got something in the works right now, and as soon as it pans out, i'll elaborate a little more. stay tuned.... :D
