Overheating after water pump replacement

I would look at shroud also, and check that top radiator hose, take the hose off the overflow reservoir and make sure there isn't a clog in it.

One other I'm not that stupid question. Not sure what style fan you have but is it possible that you took it off and turned it the wrong direction? I know you can do it with some of the old flat style fans that just bolt onto the water pump.
