Overkillz Dune Truggy Build

Of course I would put on a Holley, either the e85 4779 I have or the 750 4500 or if it was my 427 I would just leave on the 1050. Keep thinking the 427 and the blue bottle would be fun.

Just picked up 2 nice a$$ leather buckets with fold down arm rests and 2 5 point harnesses for $100!!!! WIN

Here's the thread for the cam:
http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297305

I did just remember that I have a possible buyer on the line. But if he backs out then its all yours. Also keep in mind you will have to upgrade the stock valve springs to run this cam. But this would be a perfect cam for sand drags. Broad power curve and good high rpm screemin too. Its sounds sooo mean at high rpms!

Yah they said we will prolly have to wait on it. Got a good running motor already, and we have a ton of other crap to get done first. If you still have it once weve got it good and running we would prolly buy it.

You know the rule. Pics or it didn't happen.

Oh, and sub'd for all the shenanigans, insults and whatnot (13 pages and nothing more than a teardown accomplished) that a Deuling thread provides. :waytogo:

There's 13 pages here and it's been tear down, skinny jeans, and something about a quadrajet with three or 4 pics of work put in... either way, i got gauges....

Haha, just giving you a hard time. By the sounds of it, you all were going to have an all nighter wrenching/ fabbing party

Yah we chopped the back out. Cut 2" out of the floor pans and flipped them over and re welded. Took a hole saw to the lower b pillers and ran pipe through the whole thing. Gonna mount the rears of the seats to that and mount to the cage.

Thanks dude! Sorry for the no pic update. Been really busy, little brother is getting ready to head to college wed so we have been workin on his car doin all the little crap so he doesnt get stranded being 6 hours away. Some pics are on facebook. Phone wasnt uploading all of em for some reason.

Well i didnt end up getting crap done on the truggy this weekend lol.

Ended up making a shelve unit out of an old cement saw box to put all our welding stuff in. Helmets, Jackets, grinder, drill, gloves, wire wheels, cut off disks, grinding wheels, flap wheels etc. Cleaned up alot of space in the shop that we just had the stuff laying around.

Also made a bumper for one of my little bros friends xj. Turned out pretty cool. Still needs a few more pieces welded in and some clean up grinding, but at least he has a bumper on it. Was kinda fun, I helped him design it, but made him cut it all, then I would weld one side, and he would do the other. Think hes gonna be around alot more cuz he said he had alot of fun fabbin. And I always like doin some fabbin.

Found a 2" hole saw on the drill press works perfect for 1-1/2" ID pipe. Gonna invest in a carbide lenox bit and a pipe notcher for the truggy as it will all be the same 1-1/2" pipe. Just add 1" to both sides when you gotta cut a chunk out for the round.

One more pic. The welds look kinda poopy in the pic, but they all got good penetration, and look alot better in person :haha:

Tied both pieces to some 1/4" plate that we attached to the old bumper mounts. Ran the top one straight out and the bottom mount out at a 30*ish angle. Gonna put some plate in the center with our "OVERKILL KUSTOMZ" logo on it, and make a center mount to the unibody from that plate. Should be plenty stout for a heeper lol

Heres some pics from last weekend I forgot. Had the seats in, they sat way too high. Chopped a few inches out of the floor and flipped the pieces upside down and welded back in. Hole Sawwed a hole through the bottoms of each b pillar and ran some pipe through to attach the backs of the seats to. No pics of that though.

When are people gonna stop spelling "Customs" with "K"s and "Z"s. Nothing against you, Adam, just tired of seeing it. Like exhaust stacks on pickup trucks.
