Overland trip: CK5 wheels the UP 2016 (trip report and pictures going up!)

I gotta go next year. I live that country up der. Just need to finish truck and work the bugs out before a distance trip.

Luke had a Super Swamper catastrophic sidewall failure on his H1's
Good thing he has a spare!

Ethan's truck is totally stock open diffs and it does amazing
We winched him up a slippery clay bank from a creek and that was it, I'm impressed with his truck!
And doesn't even have matching wheels. Why can't he have matching wheels as god intended?!

OK. My truck stalled on a trail and I wasn't getting good fuel pressure. The fuel pump sounded wrong like it had no load so I figured the tank had to come down. Since I had "just filled" the tank the night before I didn't want to drop it on the trail. We were at least 7 miles walk from any real road and no cell service. We walked a couple miles and found loggers who happened to have a cell phone booster, whereby we reached Dave! I gave directions to a road where he met us, Maiden in tow. The Maiden pulled my truck out of the trail (4-5 miles) and we put my rig on the trailer. Meanwhile campfire came in from the other direction and we all headed for town and my buddy's shop.

They measured 3 psi and proceeded to drop the tank. But when it came down, the tank was quite light and I had like my biggest facepalm moment ever. Yeah, I guess I only MEANT to fill the tank. I guess how I explained it to everyone they just took my word for it and nobody said "are you sure there's gas in it?"

The shop wrote up the service as skid plate cleaning since that's all they really did. Hence the mention of my lack of skid plate maintenance.

Wish I could say I've never done that... I pulled the whole fuel system out of a car one time, and yeah, I was just out of gas.
