They are old and actually two different pairs.
I really like the look of them but the front pair were a PITA to finally get right with lug nuts.
I used a shank style lugnut and that ended up being a bit loose on the wheel, and the wheel studs came loose on the inside of the hubs. I had Kert (DIY4X) machine the damaged part of the wheel flat and now use an insert with a tapered seat lugnut and they work great now.

I figured those had to be an old set. There are a couple of companies out there that offer the old style 15-inch deep-dish slot mags, but they are 5-lug rims for muscle cars. The 8-lug truck ones stopped being manufactured a long time ago.
Lemme know if any of you wanna head up here, we should be able to make something work.
I won't be able to pull this off. Thanks for the offer though. I'm curious is there really some logging roads maybe not so far north that we could put some miles on and still see some great views on unique small towns?
You can get some awesome views just heading along the Mississippi river valley. Hit up WI-133 up through Cassville and go see the car ferry. Or go up the other side through Sherrill. These pictures are just a few minutes away from Dubuque (back when we lived in that area).
You can even head South toward Bellevue, though US-52 doesn't have the river views until you get South of that town.
These aren't logging roads, but they are quiet old roads that have spectacular views. And almost everybody misses out of them because they're no longer major routes (and some of them never were).
Yea we are getting better at hitting some of those spots (Sherrill / Bellevue) and I want to find and learn about more. Really I'd really like to find more logging or Level B/Earthen Roads to explore more secluded spots though.
Yeah, I hear ya. I'm just not sure where to point you. I've driven on most of the backroads in a >30-mile circle around that area. I don't remember seeing anything that was a real logging road. There are pretty winding forest roads all through the valley, and some of them are secluded, but you still have at least gravel.
Once you get inland you're in farming country and you're never far from a farm house. I don't really consider that "secluded."Remember that the river valley has two sides. When you run out of things to see on one side you can hop across and take the roads on the other side.
Bump. Who all would be interested in doing a 2017 CK5 Yooper trip? More rigs would have been merrier. And I wanna see this repeated, it was a blast.

You know what you only live once, count me in! If I have too I'll take the 2500HD. It's a rusting and scratched farm truck anyways.

Awesome. That was kinda the philosophy last year. Dave & Luke had been talking about a Yooper run since at least 2011, but it kept not happening. Until it did.
And, yeah, you definitely don't need the final, finished classic truck for this run, showing up is more important than showing off. The 2500HD will be just fine. Probably more reliable, too.
