Just got my spare tire spindle kit. So should I weld the housing to the bumper or the spindle to the bumper?

I was considering cutting into the bumper with a hole saw to french the hub into the bumper but wasnt sure if one way or another was a no no.

Weld the spindle in.

If you did it the other way, it would work however, absolutely no way I can see that you could do a double shear mounting. Bearing changes would be more difficult. You'd need access to the "Bottom" to put the castle nut on.

Just what i'm picturing in my head.
