On a Blazer it makes very little difference.

I have never thought to myself gee I wish I had a narrower rear axle so I can turn sharper.

The 2wd one is narrower than his current rear end

Also the wider one looks so much better

I do like the wider look, but it's a really minor thing, IMO.

This thread is now more than a year old, and he still doesn't have his axles swapped. He has said that axles are scarce in his area (kinda hard for me to believe, given his location), so if I were him I would be much happier to have real gears than I would be to have the WMS width exactly the way that I wanted it.

And that's coming from someone who still loves his anemic 3.08/700R4 combination.

What is your current width? Is this enough different that you would even notice?

I gained a few WMS inches when I did my 8-lug swap, and I have noticed it exactly zero times. It just seems like such a minor thing.

I'm just leaving everything alone for now and save money. Get a rear shackle flip and steering box brace.

I think first thing on the list after this Thursday (payday) is to reserve myself a hotel room in Moab for BB. lol.

Listing things out is a good plan. I do that, but have about 20 different lists.

Good call. You can have the most awesomest axles in the universe but if your steering box is laying on the ground it dorsnt mean much.

Don't worry me bring strong rope to bb16!
