Phil's '88 Big Blue Build Thread

the 8hr drive is the deal breaker IMO.

That's about the price I would expect to pay around here for a set of axles I can swap under and drive on.

Crazy the difference in prices. People are basically giving away 3/4 ton stuff out here.

I have a STACK of axles sitting in northern Il I would give them away if I could find someone to take them...... Prob just scrap them someday.

Well, if you are ever driving through Vegas, toss a couple axles in the back, ok? :D

I would love to hook you up. ( get rid of crap) Cost of shipping would most likely not be worth it.

Oh, I'm sure it would be cost prohibitive. But thanks anyway!

This is near me, but as I have mentioned, they let me work on my truck at work, but they'd probably get cranky if I parked a hulk there and started robbing parts off it.

That's a money maker right there.... Easily make money back parting it out.

Wish I would have known that a few weeks ago when I was sourcing a 3/4-ton front for my Blazer. Lemme know if you do wind up scrapping them. I head South every couple months or so.

Want to buy an 8 lug corp 10 bolt?

That's what 14bolts go for around here. Minus the truss. That's a very tempting purchase.

I would go for it, but 44's pop up here a lot by themselves.

How much of a hurry are you in? I find guys like to thrash in the winter, and selling goes with it. Usually easier to find sets in the "off season"

Sets come with matched gearing, so you can run them as is even if you don't like the ratio. Seem to find traction aiding devices that way too

Well, I'm not sure of the whole "season" thing here. It's actually the opposite, people here wait for fall and winter to START wheeling. Probably work on them over summer.

Was just curious because it is very common for a D44 gear, easier to match outside of a set
