Phil's '88 Big Blue Build Thread

Awesome, thanks a bunch. I'll send shipping costs tomorrow.

I found a 10 bolt for $100, I think I'll pick that up and start doing all the work on it, then when I'm ready I can just swap it over.

For a hundred, it seems worth it to me, I can take my time and don't have to worry about the truck being down.

That's the one

I usually troll through Fleabay just to see if there's a better deal.
Sometimes there are rebate tags available as well

Cool, thanks. 4 wheel parts is literally a hundred bucks more than summit, it just seemed weird to me.

No that's normal. I rarely buy from them

Did you check ORD and some of the other vendors who frequent here?

My replacement steering brace came in yesterday, so that's cool.

My list right now:

Rotors, Pads, Calipers for 10 bolt 8 lug.
4:10 gears with install kit for 10 bolt
Machine passenger knuckle for crossover
2WD steering box
Crossover kit
Install Spartan (already have it)

Rear Shackle Flip
Remove spring pads from 14 Bolt (and clean it up, go through brakes)
New spring pads, U bolts, spring plate
Detroit Locker for 14 Bolt

Buy 8 lug wheels.

I think that's the major list.

You will need to buy a flat top knuckle before you can have a knuckle machined for flat top.

I also have one of those.....

Well, I have a call out for a complete 10 bolt so I can do all this stuff off the truck. He hasn't gotten back with me, but I have seen lots of 6 lug 10 bolts, not really worried about finding one.
