Runs rough at idle, like a miss, but no one spark plug looks suspicious. And sometimes under load, like going up a grade, it has a hesitation, like skips a beat. And so does my heart. But then keeps going just fine after.
I would agree with the bent one...
I just put a new distributor in my '95.
Bought a complete unit from Rockauto due to worn/squeaking bushings.
I had to put my old module into the new distributor after the test drive gave me those symptoms after 15 minutes. Problem solved...

I was able to get a complete drop in distributor for $10 more from rock auto.

I was surprised how much play was in my factory distributor, and it had been squeaking. I found it after I pulled the fan belt off. It sounded like a tensioner pulley going out. A buddy has bought a couple of them for his and a customer. No problems...
Side note.. my '95 has 230K on it.
I bought this billet distributor from Jegs for my new engine ($140) . It still came with cheap Chines pick-up coil and ignition control module. I replaced them with Delphi brand pick-up coil and module that I got from rock auto.
One thing I have discovered about cheap Ignition Control Modules (ICM) is that GM designed a crappy ground for their ICM, and cheap Chines ICM cannot handle the heat build up from the poor GM ground design, thus they burn up quick. The Better quality GM ICM's can handle the heat build up from a crappy ground, which is why they do not burn up. I created an extra ground wire for my distributor coming from the ICM mounting screw then to the engine. This cures the over heating problem cheap ICM's have with the GM TBI HEI distributors.

lol. No updates. Honestly, for the type of off roading I do, it's working pretty darn well as-is. I don't feel much of a need to change anything. Still going wheeling at least once a month with it. In a couple weeks I'm taking it on a 4 day trip off roading around Ely, Nevada.
We'll see how it goes at Blazer Bash. If I blow something up, then you'll see this thread take off again.
I just really love the truck. Got the AC working now, it gets just under 14 mpg. It can cruise on the highway comfortably, and does everything I want it to do off road. Rear locker made a huge difference.
I couldn't be happier with a vehicle.
I'm leaving on the 27th, coming back on the 30th. The club has a BBQ each evening, and planned runs during the day. Sunday we ride the steam train, and one of the members is part of the gang that "robs" the train. lol. It's a pretty great weekend.
Then not long until Blazer Bash. Life is good.
