Photos of game you've harvested

I got this one just this morning.

When I get the pictures of the one I took you'll swear they are brothers. The one I got had the same frame just 2 on the left and 3 on the right. they look identical.

CONGRATS!!!! Did you get this one in the same spot/ hill as the other ones from prior years?

STORY????

Darkshadow...We have the earliest rifle deer season in the country, always starts the second Saturday in August and runs for six weeks. It's tough as hell hunting deer in 90-100* weather. I've seen few deer since I got my first. A few smaller legal bucks, many spikes and a few button bucks.

Yes another hide to tan. I've fallen a bit behind. I've got three finished hides and two that are in process. My second buck from last years season and this years first buck, both hides are in the middle of the tanning process. Scraping the grain off is really such a PITA that I tend to lag on that part, and just grained last years hide last week! I have a brained hide in the freezer, but I gotta re-brain and then soften and smoke it. I also have the elk hide that was in my braintan writeup. It's ready to be brained, but I've been putting it off because I know the softening process is gonna take a loooooong time. I can't practice geetar and soften a hide at the same time.....

Fumes, I love you, and I look forward to the day when you throw up a post of your next sucessful deer hunt.

Thanks for the "break a leg" attitude.;) I'm taking Jr. with me this year and the wife said he could not go unless she went the first year, so I'll need all the luck I can get...
Gotta leave for his 3rd hunter ed class in a couple hours...25+ hours.:doah:

Here's my second buck of the year. Not a bad buck at all.

But, take a look at this buck another fella in camp got later that morning! For size comparison, my buck is on the right and behind the monster. I've seen some big bucks, with more points and all, but this is the biggest buck I've seen come off the ranch I hunt. Makes me wonder how many more of them are out there, maybe even bigger....

Awesome Buck Mofugly. Looks like you had a hell of a season.
Just out of curiosity what did that second buck you shot weigh?
Always thought Blacktails were small bodied deer but he looks to be about 130 to 150 when dressed.

That is a real nice buck Mofulgy. Another end to a great season for you. Where the bucks in rut yet up by your neighborhood? That monster must have been chasing tail to get caught in the open.

Backstraps is what's for dinner? Congrats...

Nice job! I'm jealous, all I can hunt right now are squirrels. Three in the freezer. Bow opens the 18th of Oct. Bow hunting is my favorite. Though I couldn't imagine drawing on a Grizzly at 20-40yds. Probably would've filled my drawers by then. Big guns would be a pretty good confidence builder too! Once again, Nice harvests!:bow:

Here's my best gun and bow deer. The European mount was my bow buck, it's 12" wide and very symmetrical. The other is my best shotgun buck, he's almost 18" wide. Not big compared to those monsters you shot, but they ate real well. MMMMMMMMMMMM:laugh:

HA! I weighed him after I gutted him, and he was right at 100 pounds! My first buck was 120. The heaviest blacktail I've ever personally witnessed was a 140 pound monster forkedhorn.

Speedo, I am quite jealous. Blacktail are my moose!
