Thanks. He was way excited.Congrats
What a great experience for you both!
I have a 55 gal drum I cut off and I put it on my Camp Chef stove and simmer it in water with a little borax and just keep the water level about an inch or two up the antlers. Haven't had one yet that messed up the antler coloring. Did this one for at least 6 hrs with 2 pressure washing sessions towards the end to get the meat and everything off. Also you need to flush the brains out first to make it way less greasy. I'll come back and do a peroxide job on it with hair dye peroxide to get it pure white. How did you get the skull that clean without changing the antler base?
Great Job Young Man!Got my kid his first buck. Little 3x3.

Nice one!Whacked this one on Wednesday with the crossgun.. Plan on boiling the skull, have done a few in the past. Just used forceps vs pressure washer. @Truckman4life , I like the idea of borax. Got any tricks for removing the brains? Pretty sure I used a coat hanger but only after boiling it for a while, I like the idea of removing them first. Regarding the pressure washer method, how do you keep from getting that shit all over yourself and everything around you?
