Pics of my Dana 60 14BFF Install

This is about the cleansest home engine swap I've ever seen. I'd like to see this 'Burb in person one day after it's finished.:bow:

Yup, it would worth the drive up to TN. Of course I'd have to tow my boat up there and do some surfing as well. :thumb:

I'm excited too guys. I still have all the electrical to wire up and figure out what I'm going to do on guages. I also have the exhaust....but that's about it. My wife is doing better and if she doesn't have any more seizures, she gets her driver's license back on august 27th. If that works out and she is able to go to the store and just do a few things to help me out....l will be able to get it finished A LOT quicker. Instead of working on it today, I am grocery shopping and doing household stuff. I worked late every day this week so I didn't get to work on it at night except for the radiator mount and filling it.

Fwiw, here's another company that offers dash trim and/or kits -

You sir, have saved me a TON of fab work! The aluminum dash is super trick....but for a dual purpose rig, I want to keep the stock dash. I looked at Dakota Digital, but to me, it looks outdated. I was headed down the road to do the racepak setup and build a dash out of carbon fiber just where the existing pod is.....but that was going to be about $3K with me building all of it myself. What classic dash has is perfect for my old school big inch MO that im kinda trying to stay with. I am going to call them Monday to see if I can swap some guages or see if they will just sell me the plastic. I need a 6K tach instead of a 10k. 120mph is all I need too. I am going to put fuel and volts down under the dash in front of the Tc shifter and put engine oil temp and tranny temp up in the dash where you can see it. Does anybody make an A pillar guage mount for these trucks? I couldnt find one. I also couldnt find classic dash.:waytogo:

I put the factory brace for the 241 that runs from the TC to the back of the motor and I realized last night that it is right in the middle of where my 3" pipe for the passenger side exhaust is going. I schetched out a bracket with the help of a friend to relocate the rod. I have to get some 3/8" thick aluminum plate to make the relocation bracket for the rod. It never ends.....change one thing.....create 2 more problems.:angry1:

if i recall in autometer in the 3 3/8 or 5" sizes the lowest is 8k on the tach.

and for you go electric on speedo as you have the 4l80-e so speed input is easy to hook to.

and the calibration of the electric is STUPID simple if you ever change tire size / gear ratio / or think its off.

think i dont like on the classic dash panel is blank for a/c - heat duct is there on lower left. if i have no duct then i dont want that section at all . there unit l;ooks ugly with it if not cut open.

then the upper a/c- heat spot or cubby hole if non option. i want that flat as the rest of the dash so i could cut out 2 more gauge holes or switch panel section.

there stuff is nice and custom. but to locked in to few options i think. and like others have said if thay dont correct for the angle of the gauge's on the flat face then the gauges are not pointed directly at you.

that classicdash kit is nice but still expensive

Over $1k for it. I'm fairly sure I bought the DIY dash and all my gauges for about that price. I also got all the options though. My gauges are 2 1/16 and 3 3/8 electric.

does that classic have angle correction?

They never did before but some of the pictures they have now it looks like they changed it so they do.

Thunder, I didn't want to hack my dash up so I just used a SPDT switch and two sending units on my temp gauge. Flip a switch and the same gauge will read the other sending unit, which happens to be in the tranny. The downfall is you can't read them both at once, but my tranny temp is usually fine anyway, and if I start beating on it I can check it with the flip of a switch. Autometer uses the same sending unit for the tranny and engine temp guages. I also like the full sweep electric, more easily readable, and you can also get it with built in programmable warning points.

and x2 on the electric speedo, the only way to go.

ya my setup will have temp sender in tranny pan and on hot line out to cooler at remote filter unit. so top left is my tranny temp gauge and next to it i also did a spdt witch so i can check both on 1 gauge. normal down will be just pan temp.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that. My truck is a simple to fix, beat the crap out of truck. I'm not going to spend $1000 in gauges for it (Hell the only gauge that works now is the water temp gauge). I'm about to yank everything out and replace them with some nice inexpensive Equus gauges.

I can appreciate you guys that don't want to spend the coin on stuff like the ClassicDash kit or would rather have Kert's dash (hell, I want one) but y'all obviously have not looked hard at THUNDERUSONE's truck - it's mint. Save the bare bones and/or dedicated wheeler type stuff for that kind of truck, this truck is way too nice with way too many neat parts to start cutting corners at this point.

I appreciate everyone's feedback. Lots of good ideas. I ended up ordering the classic dash with the big gauges and I went with black plastic. I ordered Oil Temp, Fuel Pressure, and Tranny Temp in 2 5/8" from Jegs. I got a 3 guage pod to go above the tunnel but below the dash. I also got angle bezels so that they are pointing toward me. I am putting Transmission Temp, Volts, and Fuel level on the bottom. Once I get it mocked up, if I dont like the way the guages are pointing on the left hand side of the dash, I can put angle correction bezels on them too.
