Pics of my Dana 60 14BFF Install

Sweet. I bet you are pumped about getting it done.
Send pics and video of it how it sounds.

Someone in a really nice 'Burb is tailgating the crap outta' you!

I've always got some "asshole" tailgating me :D. I just got home and got unloaded. He did an awesome job. You can't see anything from the side. Nothing but the headers hang below the frame. It sounds....well..LOUD. I was really hoping for a quiter combo until I stood on it. $350 worth of big Magnaflow mufflers with dual cats with 3" pipe I THOUGHT would seriously quiten this thing down. It sounds mean as Hell. People at the lights were looking at me like WTF is that thing. I made a 30 mile trip in it tonight. I couldn't stand it. At 82 mph on the interstate, I am turning 2,500 rpm in overdrive. It is way faster at any speed than you can control it if you open it wide open for more than just a few seconds. I've got serious respect for the power its putting down. It's definately a little fat now that all the exhaust is installed. So when I lean it down......its going to get even faster.

My back is hurting so bad I can't hardly move. I will try to get pics and video tomorrow. If I dont, it will be because my back is hurting to bad. I'll get some up by Monday for sure.

The trailer and burb rode great. I ending up towing it 75 to 80 once I felt comfortable with it. The truck never moved a 16" of an inch the whole trip. I marked the trailer with a sharpie where the tires were on the wood floor on the trip down and back and it never moved.

I did have some bad luck on the way home, I was tired, hurting and ready to get home. So I was getting after it pretty good and I was in all TN rolling hills for about a 30 mile stretch. I was pulling hills 75 to 80 but not letting the egt's go over 1,100 degrees. I'm making a fuzz over 500hp at the rear wheels. I was on the phone talking to a buddy about how my new intercooler that is 2 1/2 times the size of the stocker was doing an awesome job controlling egt's. I was making 28 to 34 psi boost on the hills but again...egt,s were fine. All of the sudden buzzers, lights and **** went crazy on the truck dash and the Banks IQ. I smoked the clutches in 5th gear. I pulled off on the side of the road, reset the fault codes in the ECM so that it would come out of the reduced power limp home mode. I towed the last 100 miles in 4th gear. It's a good thing I have the big tank in it as it was sucking it down in 4th. I weighed at the scales on the way down and it only weighed 19,500#'s with me out of the truck. I gross 25,500 with the boat and 29k plus with the 53 fully loaded. Oh well, time for a suncoast stage 5, billett convertor and hardened shafts. I just wasn't planning on doing that right now. :-(

Sorry to hear about the ally...I've limped mine twice,I can't afford a upgrade right now... So I Take it real easy towing for now.

The vids of the sub should be sweet!
Take it slow on the back man... hope to hear it can feel better for ya!

This would be my dream burb. I can only imagine how if feels to ride in it, let alone drive that beast.

For the hell of it some 1/4 times would be sweet. Smoking a few muscle cars to boot.

Sounds like you have an import eater in more than a couple ways:bow: Sorry to hear about the allison. I thought those things were supposed to be the end-all of automatics but I guess they're breakable too. Congrats on being done with the burb! I want a ride:D

You take care of you, no one else will.
I hope your back feels better soon. I have a pretty good idea how it feels. I ran 30' Novamarine jet drive RHIBs for SDVT1 for 5 years. Not a nice ride.

WOW
Your sub sounds like it is mean as hell.
Take care of that back you need it to get better.
Ouch that tranny bill is going to suck. I do knows good tranny man here.
You should know better than to run that Allison that hard in stock form. They are only good for about 400rwhp in stock form. That is why I had mine built when it was still new so I could tow with more power. I limped my last one several time, usually they are ok for now to drive but it will just be easier to do each time after that. Been there done that.

I ran into the same problem with 2.5 inch Magnaflows. Mine is only a built 355 but it was VERY LOUD. Could only stand it for a couple of weeks. Ended up with dual 2.5 inch Flowmaster 70 series. Rumbly at idle. Very quiet at cruise, tires are louder than exhaust. Still makes people turn their heads at hard throttle.

I've broken 2 other Allison's before this one. I actually did have some mods done when it was brand new. Just not a full build. Even my wife said she was surpised it lasted as long as it did the way we have used the truck. I have towed the 53 grossing 29k to 30K#'s across the country as hard as we could pull it. The semi wheels with 10 lug adapters are hard on it as well. You are correct though and I do know better. I usually trade for a new truck every 60k miles, but with my wife no longer working....I'm gonna keep it a while.

I hear you on that. I didn't do a full build on mine either because it was new. But did everthing they could without fully taking it apart. Did put a Suncoast converter in it.

If you come down to Suncoast, and you're interested, post up and we'll gather the CK5'ers up for lunch/dinner/whatever. :thumb:

I really.appreciate it. I will if I go that way. I called and talked to them when I bought the truck in 07.. They said if I booked ahead, they could start on it early Friday morning and have me done by Saturday evening.

Edit: :D
The wife and I have talked. I'm calling Suncoast in the morning to see if they can do it this coming...Friday Saturday.

The ONLY thing you can see from the side (even at frame level) are the cats going up at a 30 degree angle going up to go over the TC crossmember. My TC case torque rod relocation bracket worked perfectly to allow us to bring the 3"pipe down the passenger side for true duals. The sound of it is growing on me. :D. Nothing like an old school Burb with a 572 that will pass emissions!

Awesome job!
Looks great too!
Hope I can get someone to do that good of a job on mine too.
Are those 8" or 12" tips?
