Pics of my Dana 60 14BFF Install

That color is French metallic blue, yes?

I don't know. I went down the paint store and told them that I needed to match the rest of the truck. They shot it with thier color gun and that's what I got. It is in the silver family. I wouldn't say it is blue. The painter had to reshoot it because his airgun got contaminated with water. He ran out of paint and got some more and it wound up lighter than the rest of the truck. It looks better than faded black primer though. :D

Where in alabama did you get a house on the lake. I am originally from the shoals area and was curious if that is where its at.

Converting to EFI

Well, I am converting to EFI. For some reason I can't upload pics from my phone. I will post up later.

Here is the tow bar I finally got rigged up so that I can take it with me without fooling with the trailer for weekend trips.

EFI should be sweet.
Nice tow bar set up.
Good to see you here.
How are you and your wife doing?

Thanks Guys. We have been doing pretty good. I have been working alot. I have about 5,000 miles on the 572 now. This winter has really been a cold one for us. The cold start with no choke has gotten old now that we carry the burb with us behind the toterhome some. I tuned the idle circuit on the carb set up in warm weather. I went to Lowes in it and it was about 10 degrees outside. It was idleing at about 1500rpm. I went to turn it off and I got a horrific back fire through the carb....blew the power valve....warped the secondary shaft....etc...etc.

I have had the entire fuel system sitting in the shop to go EFI for 2 years now. I got aggravated and just decided to put EFI on it. Holley has been packing my mail box with thier latest efi setups. I did some reading on the thier self learning Terminator set up. It seemed to have alot of features for the price. The problem was that it is only rated for 600hp. I called and talked to Hollley tech support and they said that rating was at 80% duty cycle. They said that it would have no problem supporting 650hp in the type of application that I have it in. Based on the fact that I will have a large fuel system combined with the fact that you just cannot hold this thing wide open for more than a few seconds not matter what you are doing.......well they said it will work. We will see.:D

If it doesn't work, I will change intakes and throttle bodies and I will make it work. This ecu, harness and the fuel system I am building can be used for next step up in EFI systems. This was one was just alot simpler than the bigger kits if it will support the motor.

I had to change out my fuel pressure guage from 0-15psi to 0-100psi. I also mounted my rocker switch on the dash beside the guage that will activate the second side of the pump. I will have redundancy if one side of the pump went out....just flip the switch and the other side will come on. If I were to supercharge it with a few psi or add nitrous.....I dont have to go back and rework the pump.

Here is a picture of my mount that I connect my tow bar legs to. Most of the brackets that you can't see behind the bumper are all 3/8" plate. It really tied the front end together rock solid. It is beefier than most winch mount kits that attach to the frame as far as overall surface area and hardware. I had to make the center bumper mounts from scratch to reattach it after I got all of the fab work done for the base plate to attach the tow bars too. So far it works flawless. I have made 5 400 mile roundtrips with it with no problem towing it at 75mph behind the Freightliner.

I also included a couple of pics of the new fuel filters and pump. I put a new -10an pickup in the bottom of the tank that feeds into a -10an 100 micron aeromotive fuel filter. From there it goes into the holley electric (2 pumps in 1) via -10an on both ends. I am coming out of the pump on the pressure side with -10an going into another Aeromotive filter with -10an on the inlet side with a 10 micron filter. I am coming out of that filter with -8an on the pressure side headed to the fuel rail. I still have to plumb from the outlet of the 10 micron filter to the fuel rail. My last run will be to run a -8an return line from the regulator back to the tank. While I had the tank out putting in the -10an bottom pick up in (so that it doesnt have to lift it 15" straight up and then suck it to the pump....gravity can help). Electric pumps push like crazy but they don't work worth a crap on the suction side. I installed a -8an bulkhead fitting in the top of the tank for my return line to for the EFI conversion. I still have a full day left to finish the fuel line plumbing (all of the hard work is done) and I still have to finish wiring up my fuel pump the way I want it. I am trying to figure out where to mount the ECM for the EFI but I am running out of room. It is fully potted and the instructions say that it can be mounted underhood......but I would really like to have it protected inside the truck. I have the TCM where the factory ECM was. I also need to be able to punch a 2" holesaw througn the firewall to accomplish that. I am just about out of room. God I wish I had of had the insight to punch that hole in before I put the motor in and just plug it until now. When I finish my plumbing, I will figure out if it is even possible to get a hole big enough to route the harness to the inside with the firewall full right now.

Just finished going over this whole thread and can say that is the cleanest most BA burb I have seen. Nice work, you sure can't hide money lol.

Thanks for the compliments on the burb. I wouldnt say that you can't neccessarily hide money.....its just that I am not very good at saving any.:D To me, rat holing money away is like taking an 18 year old piece of quality puss and putting it in safe deposit box. Why would you not want to enjoy it now when you can really appreciate it. Assuming that was possible, what would you do with that when you are 70 years old sitting around in an adult diaper? :-)

I finished my EFI installation to determine that I have an intake gasket leak. I am pulling the intake now to fix that issue. Since I am pulling the intake, I decided to go ahead and swap distributors for the MSD 8366 so that the ECM can control the timing. I will post some pictures later this weekend when I get it finished up.
