I am going to fab a full length roof rack for my Burb. Anyone have any pics/suggestions on how to mount it. Looking to permantly mount it, but any ideas (and pics) would be great.

I could take some more picture if you want tommorow. this was done by the PO so I have no idea how he made it. all I know is that theres 6 mounting points to the roof. I going to buy some 1x1 square tubing to make the rails and paint the whole rack black in an couple weeks.

i made one out of 1"x1" square tubing, expanded steel mesh and angle iron. it looks kinda like the one from dantes peak were it only covers the back half. i shoulda made it bigger but oh well. the only picture i have of it is real dark. to secure it to the roof i used 2 pieces of angle iron and self tapping screws. i put abunch of clear silicone on the roof and screwd the angle on. then slit the rack inbettwen the 2 pices of and and screwed that on. looks pretty in my opinion and its plenty strong. just not big enough.

I have some recent photos of my Blazer showing the roof rack.As far as mounting goes, it looks like that white suburban with the full roof rack is mounted in the right place...to the outside where the metal is stronger.On the Blazer , it has a piece of steel that is inside the cab ,hidden from view.That is what supports mine in the front.On the rear part of fiberglass removable top.I mounted it as far to the edge as I could.I am going to add some supports on the inside of cab to give it more support.I adding a piece of thin plywood that i painted first to the floor of my rack. Then I picked up for FREE a used bedliner that was removed from a truck at local spray on bedliner shop.Now I can walk around on it without having to worry about my foot going through the fiberglass roof.Also it acts as a good heat reflector in the summer...keeps the cab cooler.Nothing like dual purpose.
