Pictures! Just got new rims & tires on the '73

Should I run trim rings on these rims?

  • No. They'd look better nekkid.

Very nice looking k5, I sapose this is at stock ride height? if so do you have any trouble with the tires rubbing?
It is stock height. Blazer is in my garage awaiting the end of winter. I only pulled it out of the garage to take a picture.

I've done enough homework to know that they won't rub. That's the biggest size you can put on a K5 with no rubbing. You can fit 33x12.50R15s but you may have to trim the lower edges of the front fenders.

Your truck is Awesome, Hey do you think I could borrow your time machine. I would like to go back and buy some old trucks new. It looks like yours just rolled off the assembly line.

Don't ever hack that baby up... PLEASE!!!!

No worries there. How it looks in pics in this thread is how it will always look if I have anything to do with it :cool1:

Hey guys thanks for all the replies and praises for my truck! It's feels good to get that kind of a response. I wish my girlfriend was impressed with my rig as you guys are. When I talk about it she rolls her eyes and says "what now?" Oh well, can't win them all. However, she has yet to ride in it on a sunny summer day with the top off, maybe that'll win her over ;) ...I hope so.

As far as the trim rings go, I myself voted to not run them and I think that's what I'm going to stick with. If my Blazer was less original or maybe a project that I was modifying far from stock, I may have run them, it's a good look in itself. But seeing how the original sales brochures show the wheels without trim rings, I think I'm gonna go purist on this one and leave them nekkid. Most of my co-workers at Summit like the bare-rim look too. :cool1:

I think your girl will change her mind so as it goes topless! My EX hated the blazer, she said I was always working on it. But after we took the first topless ride, It was always "Can we take the K5". I was talking to her the other day, she said " I can't beleive I know what a K5 is, and I miss it!" LOL

Bumping this one back to the top again....nice rig!

It's because we are all chevy crazy. Not alot of rigs get the drool affect though, and yours has it. I Know there are alot of sweet rigs on here, but there a select few that are drool worthy. hahaha.

i think it would look good with the beauty rings...with the 8'' wheel it will look alot different than the 6'' rims...it will show quite abit of the white rim and if you want to go purest you can alway pop them off...there are 2 different types of beauty rings a wide and narrow. i think the narrow rings would be sweet on them.

Craig, your truck looks great! So clean and stock - simply great! If I ever will have another K5, it must be a clean and stock full convertible truck like yours. The chance to find one in ecellent shape over here in Austria is almost zero, but I'll never give up the hope.

I have GOT to get me a totally stock Blazer like yours. I love how clean that truck is. Man I love that truck!!! You are a lucky man.

Oh, and I think the rings really would look great!!! Classic Bling Baby!!!

Here's an interior picture I took the other day...

It's got that chrome piping around the upper half of the bezel as well as in the gauge buckets :D
