Piecing together a full vert!

Well I figured I got to a point where I should start posting a build thread. I always wanted a 1973-1975 k5 but being from Rusty MN/WI it was hard to find one that wasn't swiss cheese or worth your first born. I was searching/going to see blazers for years until I came across an ad for a rust free 1974 tub with stock a/c from Arizona. The price wasn't bad so I called up the guy right away. Then the parts gathering began. Picked up a truck tailgate, rust free front clip and the hard one a frame & drive train. The Frame & drive train had all new brakes and a front of the body that had all the steering, hvack, brakes, linkages, and wiring. This is nice because I can move the good stuff to my clean tub.

Here is the start of the pictures and work

Then started replacing the suspension. Went with DIY4x shackle flip for the rear with tied together shackle, new poly bushings everywhere, and DIY4x shackles up front. I took a gamble and bought zone 4 inch lift front springs, heard good things about them on other trucks but nothing on ours. They were pretty low cost though. I also got poly body mounts and a 1 inch lift from ORD.

I was then ready to put the body on the frame. So I enticed some of my teammates with beer to help me carry and set it on the frame. The whole job took less than a half hour. Way easier than expected

I found a really good deal on ebay for a classic dash and autometer gauges that I couldn't pass up. Going to be a long time before these get to go in.

My next step is doing some repairs on repairs to my front frame. My plan is to go with and DIY4x A-Bomb to add strength and rigidity to the front while replacing the spring and body mounts. Then do some fixing of the repairs on the frame. I would like to also get a TNA engine cross member because it replaces everything making it stronger.

Once that is completed I can do some of the body work. I have a couple spots where the top meets the body that need replacing. I also found a dent that was filled with like an inch of bondo by the rear below the tail light line. I need to decide if I want to cut and replace or just make a cut straight across like many of the rock crawler blazers.

Future plans include:
Complete re wire
5.3 4l60e np241 with electric vss
Either axle swap or re-gear to get 4:10 and 35" tires

It is going to be alot of time and work before I am anywhere near anything but it will be fun!
