Piecing together a full vert! (This Blows)

Started it up again tonight and let it run. Idles a lot smoother and no backfire. Think it just needed to be ran awhile. Its throwing a mass airflow code, the sensor connector is kinda bad so I think that is the problem. Headers need tightening and the transmission dipstick leaks at the base but all in all way better than I was anticipating.

Now more part collecting need seats, windshield, bumpers, drive shafts, tires, and rims.

Yup I do/did. After many injuries and getting older I've started slowing down playing. You play?

Used to. Open and blind flank myself. Tore a bicep tendon then had to move for grad school. Can’t really afford to get any injuries that’ll keep me from working now.

I hear ya! I did this a few years back. Got it fixed, played a few years now I am waiting on knee surgery. It is a hard sport to hang up. Much like this site you meet a lot of great people through rugby.

:yikes: Ouch! Glad you were able to get back to it. It is hard to give up. After my bicep surgery my doc cleared me to play on a Friday; I played the whole 80 minutes the next day. Totally agree about the site too. I wouldnt be taking on my build if I hadn’t learned so much from here.

Been plugging away at it little by little. Cleaned up the wiring, hooked up the Windstar fan, mounted transfer case shifter, and ordered a rear drive shaft. Hope to be moving under its own power soon.
My brother rolled his duramax so he is giving me the seats. They will work until I can find some original low backs. I'm trying to convince him to find an old 3+3 to throw the duramax in. We just installed that motor in new last summer.

My tires came in last week, still waiting on my rims that are on back order. Tires are Mickey Thompson Dick Cepeck extreme country 315/75r16

This weekend I installed my rear shocks and shock braces then worked on the front suspension.
Even though they were not broken in yet I could tell I wasn't going to like the zone 4" lift springs. They had no give whatsoever. I switch them out for some tuff country ez rides. In the process I added a ORD FUSH kit, grease able bolts, f250 shock towers, bilstein 5125 12" travel shocks, and used a ORD offset plate to move the axle 1" forward. These springs are going to be so much nicer, they actually compresss.

Looks great!

Do you have some more photos of the fan mounts you built? I'm looking to build something similar.

Thanks
-Rob

Ill look through my photos on my computer see if I have any, otherwise I will snap a few.
Pretty much I used two pieces of angle iron. One bolted to the core support and the other bolted to the fan. I held them together with a clamp until I found the right position in front of the radiator, then welded them up.

I didn't think it was possible, but you've somehow found a way to make me like this K5 even more. Those rims are perfect. Nice choice.

I need to see this in person when you get the tires on. It's gonna be sweet! Hopefully mine will be road worthy when the weather gets warm soon.(As roadworthy as it could be) I'm going to need some seat time on the road to just shake out all of the bugs in it. It would be a nice backroad drive over to Oregon from where I live.

Sounds like a plan! Never know how long that's going to be with how much the weather changes.
