Piecing together a full vert! (This Blows)

Awesome build you have there, pal. How's the performance of the Bilstein 5125? Is it true that 5125 is a "generic" shock made to fit many application?

Thank you!
Don't have any driving feedback on the shocks yet. They are a shock that can be used for many applications because of different lengths and valves. ORD has a useful chart on their website to help decide.

The past few weeks I have been really pushing to get some stuff done. I injured my knee playing rugby and have a surgery coming up so I am trying to get as much done as possible.
I tore into my Dana 60 and completely rebuilt it. Hindsight being 20-20 it probably would have been cheaper to buy one that was done already but everything I learned was valuable. The whole thing was crusty, even the shims in the carrier, so it was hard to get a baseline. After a lot of mistakes and learning curve it came together pretty well. the MAW took over and it ended up being built way more than needed, but leaves room for future upgrades

With the axle in i was ready to go back home for Easter. While there I picked up the drive shaft I sent with my Dad to get shortened. As soon as I got home I put it in the blazer, fired it up and drove it outside. I couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear! Needs some things to make it really road worthy but I feel like I hit a milestone. So far the speedometer isn't working, I think I hooked it up to the wrong wire. Brakes need to be bled. I need to make brackets for the seats. Add seat-belts and a windshield. Then I can take it for a longer run to see how it handles.

Now with it driving I really needed to see what the tires looked like. Mounted two of them. I was thinking of going with white, but the black is really growing on me.

this is an awesome build! ..
so few qs for ya..

I didn't read all 14 pages but intend to come back.. read 14 to 11 in that order.. hah

on I think pg11 you stated that you were using a wiring kit.. but then you show pics of you riping into the wiring... not a complete kit?
gauges - these look sweet!!! If I ever do an LS or 8.1L swap.. I wasn't sure what to do with gauges... ecm (?) wires come out and go straight to the gauges?

just thinking out loud.. hah

Thank you! I used a wiring kit for the body wiring. For the engine I followed the diagrams on lt1swap.com.
The Tach comes from the ECM, currently I have my Speedo wired wrong. Oil pressure and temp have senders from Autometer. Fuel and volts are the same as stock.

Gotcha.. thx for all that info! ... yeah I keep seeing people say redo wire harness... my real question is.. what is the harm of leaving the extra wires there vs removing them if in the Tune, they are disabled anyway... but we will see if I ever get that far... hah

I'm not sure. Looks cleaner without all those extra wires. If you reuse the stock fuse block you might be able to leave the wires in the harness. I went with a different fuse block so wires like the ones for the coils got condensed.

Yeah. Our 8" forecast turned into 14" on the ground with a low of 9 degrees. And I had just gotten used to short sleeves, too. :doah:

I remain confident that it will melt off quickly.

Wednesday last week was awesome, after that it was all down hill.

Filled the tank, loaded up the pups and wife, and took the blazer on its first Sunday drive. Ran really great and smooth. No death wobble or anything like that. Had to adjust the hood latch, a couple pot holes made the hood pop open. Did get a couple codes p0134 and p0154. Ill have to check over the o2 wiring see if that's the fault. But overall I was really happy!
