Pigeon-Rat - Opel gambler build

1966 Opel rekord mounted to 1990 Nissan pathfinder.
That thing is turning out awesome...great job

You should move the light bar further forward tho..like over the front door

I agree it would be better forward, but I have plans for a sunroof, so it had to go back behind that area for now. Keith and I have plans for a roof rack eventually that will move the lights forward to just over the A-pillars.

Today I fixed the exhaust leak, replaced the strut rod bushings, and the anti sway bar bushings.

Also, fixed this:

Turned out pretty decent for an hour or so of rushed work.

She performed fantastic! Fixed a leaky windshield seal with gorilla tape, but otherwise just ran it. Put over 1000 miles on her in just a couple of days.

There are a couple of issues that need to be addressed (gas fumes for one), but overall I'm thrilled with how its it's working.

After we finished the gambler500, I took the pigeonrat out with the family. Lots of fun so far, and it's getting a ton of attention every where we go.

Going to enter it in a mud bog in afton WY this weekend. :D

Such a unique project. So cool seeing it out on the Gambler doing what you planned with it. Great work sir! Keep having fun with it!

Yeah, you'll never see another one of these running around, especially off road.
Funny thing, I was certain that no one was going to know what the hell this was. I did get a few guesses of chevyII nova and internationals, but when I pulled into the first waypoint the very first guy that walked up to me says "cool rekord, where'd ya get it?" I was blown away, but it turns out he was from Denmark and they are all over there still. :haha:

Well technically it's a German chevyll so they were not really wrong

So, finally getting around to an update.

I did manage to get to afton for the mud rally.

It was a ton of fun, but the pigeonrat is no mud truck.

Through everything the only thing that broke was the power steering pump. Easily fixed yesterday.

In Oregon for the gambler500 it was no big deal that the AC didn't work, but back here in salt lake it's a necessity so I got to work finding the leak. It was a pretty simple process with a can of dye.

The leak is in the high pressure hose. Going to see what I can find at the junkyard tomorrow.
