PLEASE help with this new transfercase problem!

I have a Fixed yoke Driveshaft, But the Shaft is from an Np208. which was bolted to the 700R

The thing is, I have 200$ to my name. And this is my DD. which I need to get on the road Asap

edit: Also I just found an Np 205 From a Ford? It's a Married TC I would be able to just swap my shafts into this If the Splines on the Case Aren't 27?

Ford has their front out put on the driver side, your Gm has it on the passenger side...

I have a th350 version 205 in my garage, too bad you werent closer. You should be able to find one down there, Before craigslist, there were junkyards... Try checking some out :P

believe it or not, That was the first place I went to. was about an hour and half drive for nothing

All I am familiar with mostly are the Fords.
But, even though the shaft comes out the wrong side, most of the internal parts should be the same.
There have been lots of finicky changes over the years, but the cone (bearing retainer) that broke on yours is probably the same part on the Ford unit.

As long as they are the same driveshaft type.

It might be quite possible to use the Ford unit for parts to rebuild yours.

but is it really worth buying the case for 150, Just for the Bearing retainer.

Probably not. I misread. I thought you already had the Ford one.

Of course, its pretty much a given that you will need more than just the retainer, since the bearings may need replacing too.
But reusing bearings is always iffy.

If I had a donar case sitting there and the bearings looked and felt good, I would probably give it a try to get back on the road.

But in your case, it would make more sense to buy new.

Of course, I have not priced the bearing retainer and shaft bearings, you might still come out ahead with the Ford unit.

I will check around and see if I see any prices.

Well, fart!
I've got to go. Friend just called and he got a problem.

Keep looking.
If all else fails, post a new thread with a different title.
Such as: Need output shaft parts for a 205.

You can't actually buy and sell in the forum, but if someone here has what you need for a good price, you can do a deal over the phone or Private messages.

Asking for parts availability is not frowned on.

you can use alot of parts from the ford 205. alot is directly interchangeable.

unbolt the "cone" part that sounds like its broken. lift it directly off to not disturb the needle bearings in there, maybe 12 of them. if at an angle they will fall out.

remove your broken chevy rear output cone, and put the ford one on.

then sell the 32 spline ford front output shaft for 100 bucks or just put it in your case. direct swap as well. remove and replace.
