PLEASE help with this new transfercase problem!

You have a real bad news/good news situation.

You have the fairly rare slip yolk 205. Its not considered as good as the others because that is a weak point.
However, for normal use, its fine. So just because yours failed, its still a darn good case. In fact that is about the only weak part of that case.
But, of course, that part is a little harder to find.

The good news is, pretty much everybody here that had one on their truck, or found one in a junkyard for a replacement, has converted it over to the short, nonslip joint bearing version.
And the parts they took off to do that happen to be the exact ones you need.

So, if anyone here did the conversion and did not throw the old parts away, they should be willing to send them to you for not much more than shipping if that much.

I doubt anyone here will go back......

Also, The Slip yoke, The Driveshaft slides into the Tcase no?

Mine bolts up to the yoke on the Tcase.

like in an earlier post, I said this looks Like my driveshaft,

I think I really confused myself, And I cant find a digital camera to take a picture of my Tcase with!

So yours is not a slip yoke output? Do you have two little u-bolts that hold the rear driveline to the t-case?

I will trade you good parts for your broken parts, you pay shipping. It will probably fit in a USPS flat rate box.

Yes, It's the Ubolts that hold it on. Currently the Tcase is still in the truck, Everything is assembled.

In order to pull the Housing off, I would need to pull the yoke off, which is a big nut, not sure what size it is, I do NOT have access to air tools.

Also. I need the housing, and I'm not sure what else, I can put my Tcase in Neutral and spin the rear yoke so its not seized up I assume?
Do you have an extra housing? im not sure what else I would need or should replace

1. remove the driveline
2. remove speedometer cable
3. get a 9/16" wrench and unbolt the tailhousing from the main case. No need to take the yoke nut or 5 bolt seal retainer off.

The whole tailshaft assembly will come off. It sounds like this is the part you broke?

Also, I'm in the process of pulling it off, heat shield is in the way Need to find my wrenches, to pull it off, Then i will be able to get the last Two bolts holding the tailshaft on

Okay! I got the rear tailshaft off. Tell me if yours looks like this.
mail

also. I think it WAS my rear end that cracked the Tcase. I jacked up the rear. spun the tire, and only one wheel spins :(

oookay.. and why does this tailshaft look like it's off of an Np203? To me it does. Can anyone Verify? BUt my Tcase gears go like this

I cant see the picture. An open diff only spins one tire. That pattern is a NP205.

also, Found an add on craigslist, Guy has a parts 85 K5, with both front and rear matching gears/axles 6lug 3.08 highway gears will deliver the truck for $300

I only got 200 :(

I have a couple 203 outputs in the scrap pile. Do you have paypal? Take your rear diff cover off and see if there are metal chunks floating around.

that is NOT a pic of mine. but Where the Red line is, With The Yellow tip those are indicator marks :P mspaint.

Where the yellow tip is, That looks beat up a little, Not so smooth. around that whole.. knuckle?

Little metal slivers are normal, liquid metal gear oil is bad, chunks as big as a pencil eraser or bigger is bad.
