PLEASE LOOK!!!! TV Cable is Set! but need help still with idle in D AND R

ok i finally drove it....now it seems like its shifting early....also when i`m in P or N and i hit the gas a little it seems like its kind of sticking....now when i put the spacers in it kind of made the bracket a little crooked...could that be the problem????also when i`m in drive or reverse and i am rolling real slow the idle is kinda rough, shaking the truck a bit....could that be the misadjusted cable?

any one?? i wanna try and figure it out before i bring it to the tranny shop in the mornin

it may help if you have someone operate the gas while you see how the cable is moving to make sure you have no binding with the throttle..

the bracket can be tweaked some if need be.. either grab it and give it a little twist or even a bar between the feet of it may work...

it sounds as if you may need another click or so on the cable... you could try giving it full throttle while not running then grab the cable and pull it a little more to get another click or 2..

probably a good idea for you to stop in the shop and have em double check the adjustment for ya...

alright i brought it down this morning and they said that it was adjusted fine...he said that shifting out of first at 10mph was fine because the 4spd autos were know for the quick first shift...with the idle sticking he said it had something to do with the cruise control and he said he threading something out a couple of turns.....so thats set

the only problem i`m havng is that when i am in drive or reverse and i am rolling slow..maybe under 5mph...it is idling or whatever rough....it kindof shakes the truck a bit.....any advice?????????

a couple of my vac lines are shot...could this be the problem????

Yes the idle could be vac. related so I would check all the lines and replace the ones that are needed, it can't hurt either way.

thanks i`ll check them when i get home from school....could the egr valve do anything?

yup, when my egr was going it was doing something similar.. really stumbling off idle, etc.. clear up once you where in the pedal..

might wanna check to see if your throwing a code.. you can test it by disconnecting the vacuum, plug the vac line and take it for a ride...

and what should happen?

the stumble should go away... iirc, the other test is with egr hooked up and running if you manually move the diaphram lever the idle should change, indicating it is working properly..
