PLOW MACHINE / sleeping quietly : 237 6 shifter levers !

weight for rear of truck helped a LOT this winter .

she did good for me this season as it was a hard season as we all know.

did a lot of plowing and recovery jobs with her .

but Thursday was the official start of the full redo / rebuild / replace of the PLOW TRUCK .

I got the frame dug out from my storage spot and got it home to the shop and on a roller axle just to make it easy to move around .

got to pressure wash it / clean it / prep it for few add-ins and get ready to send down for media blast and then paint .

found a deal on a new set of firestone ride right air bags for the truck . going to run them with the real soft 56" springs I have in the truck now at 2600lbs per pack over the 3600-3800lbs per of a real 1ton . make it ride nice and still get the weight ability I need with the bags .

also got something coming from kirt @ diy4x for the rear of the truck .

cleared out the shop today got stuff outside around back .

this gave me room to get the frame in the shop .

and I figured why not use the lift table so I don't tie up the shop lift and its much easier to get around the frame on the table.

got the brake lines / engine mount brackets off today also .

just got to clean up a few things and bolt on a new part when it shows up Tuesday then it will be ready to basicly go get blaster and bring back and paint it .

I know I can build the lines but I said screw it .

I just ordered a master s.s. line kit for the whole truck from classic tube.

will post up feedback when it shows up .

saved from kirts other hitch he made and sold to a member .

its based off the popular brand of hitch that's a great unit but this is a direct fit to our trucks .

I have installed the other brand . . . there built like a brick :poo: house and good product .

but I liked this one better for this build. as price and DIY4X factor. :thumb:

I just looked at the pics of other brand . DIY4X has a lot more mounting holes !

well got the unit almost in today .

need to hit the hardware store for a few box's of 1/2inch stuff. :doah:

14 total hitch to frame rails . then 12 side plates to main plate.

have to remove stock front shock bracket .

got the classic tube pre-bent master brake line set today .

look good / fit good with just a few tweeks from being stuffed in a box to ship . 1 union for rear line same as factory did .

happy so far . checked the lines & nuts with magnet and its good prem stainless steel as the magnet didn't stick .

got the motor mounts and tranny/tcase mount email today from summit racing . do NOT trust the summit racing info / fitment guide for the energy suspension motor & tranny/tcase mount set . the online info says even with sbc it fits .

well order it and it don't unless you have true 454 big block factory mounts on the frame . the inserts are to big . called them and they took care of me no charge back and swapped out with non kit form to get me correct engine mounts and the same correct tranny/tcase mount .

also got the hardware the other day for the gooseneck install I needed to get .

lots of hope and dreams :haha:

live in the salt / liquid deicer belt . and they are not afraid to dump it all over. :doah:

Looking good! Love the DIY4X hitch, awesome!!! Looks like you are going to have one heck of a great plow rig!!! :thumb:

Question for you- what rear springs did you use? I would like to do something similar for my K30. Thanks!!!

22-547 spring pack # @ 2600lbs per pack . real light so good fluffy ride over stiff 1ton stock . then bags are up to 5k extra so I still get more than stock .

and the hitch is just MASIVE even if you don't pull a trailer it will beef up the frame area .
