PLOW MACHINE / sleeping quietly : 237 6 shifter levers !

well on the way to making this a 6 stick shifter setup in the cab .

been checking in to www.usshift.com also and watching there youtube videos . . . oh my what a POWER PACKED little unit with options.

That looks like a nice little setup! I've been debating either a nv4500 or 4l80 swap in my truck and that might just make the auto an easier choice.

I'll be very interested to hear how it works once you get the rig all together.

went digging today for parts from other projects on back burner to finish this one.

got my intake and roller rockers . edelbrock rpm air-gap large oval port . and the comp cam full roller rockers 1.7 stock ratio .

yesterday my shift knob showed up before the shifter . . . preview of that with 1 pic .

also had a good 10-15min talk with www.usshift.com on the 4l80-e controller unit quick4 . WOW what a unit and watching there youtube channel is blowing my mind on options and features . . .

my lokar shifter showed up Monday . . . bling bling and good quality .

but today was a real nerve fest . I found a new comp cams kit online the other day . the sellers feedback was less than perfect . but the price was to good to pass up . . . .

well today it was to be delivered . but didn't get here before I went to work . . . got home and BAM the box was here . so I opened it like a kid on xmas day and sure as SH!T its all in there 100% kit . . . .

new comp cams k11-413-8 kit is $925.00 . . . . I scored this kit for $495.00 to my door . will go nice with the roller rockers I have for it also .

got the shifter assembled & mocked up were I was thinking it would be happy . . . . boy was I wrong . had to rework it and will be extending the 1 rear bracket to re-hookup to the main bracket . this did get me in the center of the stock 4 speed hole tho . also it made the linkage points about on top of each other . . . but lokar has a bell crank linkage it to solve this for under 30 bucks off summit .

so once this is worked out I will rework the triple stick shifter mount point to move the levers up more to the middle of the truck floor area . as now there about at the back end of the bolt in hump flange . then at the same time we will be adding in the 2 extra for the pto and winch control .

pics when I get home from work sorry .

pics as I said I would post .

fyi: yellow tape to protect the midnight black finish .

it has 2 little set screws if you put the main plate up to far like I did in 4x4 applications . but I just don't like it so I will just extend the rear bracket up a bit .

and you can see the almost vertical of the piviot points . this is why I need the bell crank linkage kit .

my old plow truck I did years ago the linkage was so short i wished i knew they made this kit . it would of made it better and shift little smother . but that one is ok. .

also got my Cloyes Gear & Product 9-3510TX9 timing set today .

pics do NOT do them justice on the quality and finish :coolblue::biggrin:

fellow member here told me to run them over anything else . he would know he is the motor guy .

comp/arp longer rocker studs / comp cam bolt-lock plate kit / summit brand fuel pump block off / arp oil pump drive / lokar bell crank linkage kit . . . all showed up today .

almost ready to build out the motor and here it run .

bell crank kit worked GOOD !

got me the shifting linkage movement i needed . so next step with shifters is to get them mocked backup and see how far i can move them forward since there right at the back of the bolt in trans tunnel . then see what its going to take to mount the 2 extra on the left side with the lokar bell crank linkage kit already in there . i think i will have to integrate the bell crank mount / main shifter rear mount and all new custom 5 stick shifter mount all in to 1 main bracket . but the bell crank kit can be shortened up real easy in the linkage and still work just fine.

also retested the roller rocker and nut assembley on old stud all stock cam and guts . then installed 1 new .200 longer stud from the comp/ARP kit .

stock = 2.5 full turns before bottom out tight
comp/ARP = 5.5 full turns before bottom out tight .

this should work a lot better . have to wait till we get the cam kit in and also put pre-load on the lifters . as my testing was just snug on pushrod no lifter pre-load .

pics later tonight .

ahhhh my brain is fried for today . . .

bell crank linkage in and working only test fit . will get new mount point once 2 stick is mounted on left side . . otherwise the linkage goes threw the 2 levers . . .

then cut up to good ORD mounting brackets since I will be making 1 new master mount plate ( thin card board on tail housing ) to hold 5 levers total / pickup the back of the lokar main plate / and bell crank linkage mount . at the same time the 5 sticks/levers will be moved up almost 4-5 inches from the mounting spot they were at . its just what happens with you do a lonnng 4l80-e/203/205 doubler.

then a preview of the tunnel set in place and boots laid out to view it all . just need to dig out my 4 speed boot for the lokar shifter of the 4l80-e to complete the look .
