And of course i searched for the answer.
But plz... Is a free 12 bolt stronger then my 10 bolt to build and is it better to build my 10 bolt? plz if I get the right answer you guys will love my poor build thread I willl make :)

Plz. I ask cause Im poor and have owned my JImmy for 12 years. I treasure this junk. 250 k and it never let me down

I have put 1000s into it. took alot of pics too :) Sorry I asked about the 12 bolt.... I know the 14ff is what I want :( but in vermont they aint cheap :( 12 is my world here :(

Plz answer.

From where i stand, the 12 is slightly stronger. But is it enough to warrant all the work to get it under the truck? only you can answer that.

I say save up, get the 14bolt.

Down here, people literally throw away 14 bolts. Pick n pull $100.00

.

depends on how your going to use it, tire size, drivetrain, driving habits, and so on

x2 on the 14bff...they cant be that much.......no more than a few hundred bucks

I can tell you right now locking that 12 bolt will increase it's chances of breaking

gears, I put a detroit in a 12 bolt and it scared me everytime that thing disengaged....dude save yourself the headache...run what you have until you can save for the 14bff....unless your real easy on the throttle always especially on the street

BTW im gonna start a build threadf lol I have takin pics of my truck when it was nic to me cutting in in have with a sawz all :)

kk then through the free 12 bolt away.... For normal stock engine throttle and a very heavy foot what about locking the front 10 bolt?

I have read here for the last 9 years that a daily driver on a front built 10 can be alot of fun.
Can i lock that and be ok?

I don't know about that...one thing to remember, a 14bff you'll most likely be steppin up to a bigger rim and tire, when I put a 14bff in my first truck I did buy 15" 8 lug rims w/ 36" tsl's, the damn drums are almost as big as those 31's, I guess it boils down to what you want, to give advice.. people are always going to side on the stronger side of the options.....a 12bolt might work for you unless you plan to get bigger tires, I went to a 14 bolt after blowing up 5 12 bolts....gears in a couple, the center pin that holds the spiders in a couple, and bearing in one, but that was with 35's and 36's"

Me and my friend if we werent in the truck would make it 4k lol

btw way my Jimmy is sawed in half lol

I turned it into a pick up.
