I say #1. Put a rear window in it with a wall. And turn the back into a pickup bed. Put pickup tailgate on.

I would do the 1/2 cab the way it sits... you'll appreciate that interior room.. and backseats will take up more than you think.. i know it's at the wheelweels, but i would deal with that...

not crazy about the using the rear window, lower wall thing... get some smoked 1/4 or 5/16 lexan... and just slip in, or hinge at top.. you'd have to mod the lip for that... way easier than shortening the thing tho... i would do a fiberglass lower, in my case, I'd build out of composite, in your case glass over wood.. i wouldn't use metal.. and obviously the pickup tailgate..

the other option, for the summer is, if you make the lexan and lower removable, you could have a canvas guy make a full canvas backwall, that you could snap in, and have an upper isenglass window in it, for, $200, I'd bet...

Any reason why you wouldn`t use metal for the lower wall? I have a pickup cab wall I could get the metal from, Then I thought of cutting a piece of plywood the same shape and fastening it to the inside, for reinforcement.

As far as making the canvas wall. I also thought of that, but never new how much to expect it to cost. Now that I have a ball park figure, I think I may go for it. Would you recommend using the front of a blazer topper (basically the part that bolts the back of the cab), and have it snap to that?

EDIT: Also, for the rear window, I decided to use the window that was in my blazer gate. It will hang a little lower than the bottom of the cap, so I plan to use the bottom rail as a fastening point to the bottom wall.

Well, my thinking was, I certainly wouldn't want a permenent wall there.. I'd want something I could bracket and remove... run a removable wall and lexan thru the winter, then yank it all out and run a canvas gig the summer...

It'd be far easier to just do glass over wood... metal, your gonna be dealing with cuttin to fit, dealing with the body lines, attaching an inner (fastening is an issue. you'd really wanna bed it with an adhesive... cerrtainly not the best idea to run screws thru....

as i said, the old glass use doesn't appeal at all to me.. sounds like yu just wanna do it cuz of ease, and what you have... That glass is heavy.. sure you could probably screw right thru the track to secure it.. but it really wont be removable... and, it's potentially dangerous.. lexan man, it's the way to go...

i would just have canvas made to use with the 1/2 top.. pull out the wall/window, and snap it in.. straight up and down... if it was mine, i wouldn't consider taking 1/2 cab off often.. why bother? make the wall removable, and just run around open in the back when ya want...

I have the solution it is called Project 62. Prepared for National Association of State Foresters in Cooperation with Michigan’s Forest Fire Experiment Station

I see. I think the reason I may not want to run it in the summer, is because I know that if I put the thing back on, I`ll most likely get lazy, and never take it off:D Which probably isn`t a bad idea, and is more than likely the way I`ll end up going. I will still have about 3 ft of bedspace, 5ft if you I were to get a bed extender. It sounds better all ready.:wink1:

Of course with the wall removable, and using lexan rather than my old window, the process of removing the cap, will be ALOT easier.

Now all I need to do is wait to talk to Mr Fox about your membership, so I can get the ball rolling:wink1: :D

Where would you recommend getting the smoked lexan? I`d like to do the rear window, as well as new side windows.

Did you get the PDF I sent you and what are your thoughts?
